Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) will keep open the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission Form 2019-20 for class 6th, at nvsadmissionclasssix.in, until tonight. Today is the last date to register for the JNV selection test (JNVST) 2020.
The closing time for registration has not been mentioned anywhere by the samiti. Therefore interested students, or their parents, are encouraged to apply sooner rather than later.
Latest message published by NVS at navodaya.gov.in is “Last date to register for Online Application of class VI JNVST-2020 is extended upto 30th September 2019. The portal will be kept open for candidates who have registered on or before 30.09.2019 to submit details of Phase-II upto 3rd October 2019.”
Initially the last date to apply was September 15, 2019. One day before the deadline, NVS announced extension of the deadline by fifteen days, to September 30, 2019.
After this, admit cards for the selection test, JNVST 2020, will be released on December 1, 2019 for phase 1, and on March 1, 2020 for phase 2. The exam will not be held twice, but actually phase 1 and phase 2 are exam dates for different regions of India.
The phase 1 exam will be held for Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh (except Dibang Valley & Tawang Districts), Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh (except Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla Districts), Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, & West Bengal (except Darjeeling), Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Pudducherry. Whereas the phase 2 exam will be held for Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Uttrakhand and in the Districts of Dibang Valley and Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in the Districts of Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla of Himachal Pradesh, in the District of Darjeeling of West Bengal. To fill the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission Form 2020 for class 6th admissions, go to navodaya.gov.in. On the pop up that opens, click “Click here to apply for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test for Class VI (Session 2020-21)”. Then on the next page, click “Candidate click here for Registration – Phase I”.
Education in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is fee. There are no charges for tuition. Only Rs 600 are charged per month for boarding, lodging, uniform, textbooks from classes 9th to 12th. Girls, SC, ST, BPL students are exempt from this fee as well.
There are a total of 661 JNVs in India. Around 80 students are offered admission to class 6th in each school. Around 75% seats in a district will be filled by students from rural areas, and rest will be from urban areas.
JNVST 2020 will be a two hours duration pen and paper based test with three sections, and all objective questions. The three sections will be mental ability test with 40 questions of 50 marks, arithmetic test with 20 questions of 25 marks, and language test with 20 questions of 25 marks. Thus the paper will have 80 questions of 100 marks. The sections will respectively have to be attempted in 60 minutes, 30 minutes, and 30 minutes.
