The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has announced the results of the ‘Young Scientist Programme’ also known as ‘Yuva VIgyani Karyakram’ (YUVIKA). Students who had registered for the programme can now check the results from the official website – isro.gov.in. The ISRO YUVIKA programme is going to be held from May 16 to 28, 2022. It must be noted that a total of 150 candidates have been shortlisted for the programme.

Based on parameters such as the marks secured by the student in the class 8 exam, participation in science fair and other criteria, the results have been prepared and published. Moreover, minimum participation has been ensured from each state and UT. To know how to check the results, take a look at the steps given below.
Step 1- Visit the official website of ISRO at isro.gov.in
Step 2- Scroll down and click on ‘Capacity Building’ among other icons.
Step 3- Click on the flashing link on the top of the page that reads ‘YUVIKA – 2022 Online Registration Announced’.
Step 4- After that, click on the link given in green that reads ‘YUVIKA – 2022: List of Shortlisted Candidates Announced’.
Step 5- The PDF version of the list will open on a new page.
Step 6- Crosscheck the names and save the same.
The programme initially aimed to select 150 students across the country who are presently studying in class 9. Another criterion was that these students should be studying in a school located within the Indian territory. One can check out the list of selected students from the images attached below.
About ISRO YUVIKA 2022
YUVIKA 2022 endeavours to impart basic knowledge on space technology, space science and space applications to younger students, giving special preference to the rural areas. In general, this programme aims to create awareness about the emerging trends in science and technology among the youngsters since they are considered to be the future building blocks of the nation.
This will be a residential spanning over two weeks during the summer holidays. The schedule of YUVIKA 2022 involves talks from eminent scientists, experimental demonstration, facility and lab visits, sessions for discussions with experts along with practical and feedback sessions. At the end of the project, the students are going to be taken to visit Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. ISRO will be bearing the expenditure of the student, i.e. train fare from the nearest railway station to the reporting centre and return, course material, lodging and boarding, etc.
