Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) conducts selection processes for engagement of apprentices in its various regions from time to time. The latest IOCL recruitment 2019 for apprentices has been published for 131 vacancies / seats in the marketing division of Western Region.
Recently the corporation has announced openings for engagement of technical and non technical trade and technician apprentices under the Apprentices Act. 1961. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online until November 26, 2019.
The advertised positions will be filled in the states and union territory of Western India which includes Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The official advertisement released says that the tentative date for the written exam is set on December 15, 2019.
IOCL is recruiting for various posts such as Technician Apprentice-Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Accountant and some others in different cities mentioned above.
The recruitment is open for those candidates who possess a 3 years diploma in the (respective field) they want to apply for the apprenticeship from a recognized institute / university with minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate for general & OBC candidates and those belonging to the SC / ST category the percentage goes down by 5% and should have secured at least 45%.
And for post like Trade Apprentice: Fitter, Electrician, Electronics mechanic, Instrument Mechanic and Machinist they are eligible only when they are having a regular full time ITI in (specified post) recognized by NCVT / SCVT. It is also must to note that these candidates must acquire a full time regular course in their discipline.
Also to fulfill the eligibility criteria, candidates must lie in the age group of 18 to 24 years as on October 31,2019. Corporation gives an add on advantage to the reserved category candidates in the upper age limit by providing relaxation upto 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and upto 10 years for candidates belonging to PwBD candidates.
The candidates meeting the eligibility can apply online. One should first register as a trade apprentice at the Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training (RDAT) at apprenticeship.gov.in/Pages/Apprenticeship/home.aspx, or as a technician apprentice with the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) at portal.mhrdnats.gov.in/boat/commonRedirect/registermenunew!registermenunew.action. Those who are going for trade apprenticeship (optional trade) should register at NSDC at apprenticeshipindia.org.
Then the prospective candidate needs to apply via iocl.com under the careers -> apprenticeships -> engagement of technical and non technical tade and technician apprentices. Eligible candidates will get sms and email to download admit card. Application number and DOB should be kept safely for later downloading admit card for IOCL apprentice 2019 exam from iocl.com.
The selection of the candidates are done on the basis of the written test which will be held at Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Panjim and Silvassa. Total of 100 objective questions worth 100 marks will be asked, to be completed in 90 minutes.
For the selection, cut-off decided and fixed by the authority has to be attained by securing a minimum of 40% marks in test and SC/ST/PwBD candidates here also gets a relaxation of 5% against the reserved positions.
It is clearly stated by the corporation that merely clearing the written test does not guarantee admission until all the documents of the candidates are verified and checked pertaining to eligibility criteria.
