Indian Air Force Airmen Notification 02/2020 out; Apply at airmenselection.cdac.in

Indian Air Force (IAF) has released Airmen Selection 02/2020 notification and application form on July 1, 2019 at airmenselection.cdac.in. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online until July 15, 2019. Application fee is Rs 250.

Airmen Selection for Group X and Group Y is on basis of selection tests and adaptability tests. Selection test phase I is scheduled to be held from September 21 to 24. All details pertaining to sequence of exam, application form, eligibility, joining have been detailed in notification.

Age limit for Airmen Selection Group X and Y is such that one should be born between 19-Jul-1999 and 01-Jul-2003 (both days inclusive). Those who get selection should adhere to upper age limit of 21 years as on date of enrolment. Unmarried male Indian and Nepalese candidates can apply,.

Group X is open for candidates who have either passed class 12. They should have studied mathematics, physics, english and got 50% overall and 50% in English, or those who have done 3-yrs Diploma in Engineering with 50% overall and 50% in English either at Diploma level or inter level. Whereas Group Y has separate educational qualification requirements for Medical Assistant trade, and others.

Group Y except Medical Assistant and Musician trades can be applied for by candidates who have either passed class 12 with overall 50% and 50% in English, or those who have done 2-yrs vocational course with 50% overall and 50% in English either at course level or inter level. Group Y medical assistant trade requires one to have passed class 12 with physics, chemistry, biology, english, and obtained 50% in aggregate as well as 50% in English.

Those who are eligible for both Group X as well as Y can appear for exam in single sitting. They must select that option during registration. All applicants can download admit card from airmenselection.cdac.in, careerindianairforce.cdac.in in September.

IAF will release Provisional Select List on April 30, 2020. Thereafter enrolment list will be released on June 10, 2020. Initial enrolment of selected candidates shall be for 20 years, extendable to age of 57 years.

Airmen get monthly stipend of Rs 14,600 during training. After that Group X trades Airmen get Rs 33,100 per month plus DA. Group Y candidates get Rs 26,900. Other allowances are also applicable. Scope of promotion is until Master Warrant Officer (MWO). Candidates can also become commissioned officers if they qualify examinations during service.

IAF Recruitment happens through various modes. Airmen Selection for Group X and Group Y is one such mode, suitable for class 12 pass, diploma holders, vocational courses completed defence aspirants.

Indian Air Force has a size of over 140000 personnels. There are over 1720 aircrafts. Central Air Command is located in Allahabad, UP. Eastern Air Command is at Shillong, Meghalaya. Soutrhern Air Command is at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. South Western Air Command is in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Western Air Command is at New Delhi. Training Command is in Bangalore, Karnataka. Maintenance Command is situated in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
