Income Tax Department Recruitment 2019: Notification out for Tax Assistant, MTS

The Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, of West Bengal and Sikkim invites applications for the recruitment of Meritorious Sports person for appointment to the posts of Tax Assistant and Multi Tasking Staff (MTS). A total number of 20 vacancies have been announced for both the posts, 18 in MTS, and 2 in Tax Assistant.

In order to apply, it is important to be aware of the eligibility factors. To start with, a Tax Assistant should have a degree and possess Data Entry Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour. Besides this, he / she has to be between 18 – 27 years of age. Whereas for the post of MTS, one should be between 18 – 25 years of age. In addition it is mandatory for a candidate to pass matriculation / equivalent from a recognized Board or council to apply for MTS.

The willing and eligible candidates have to send the hard copy of their application form in such a way that it reaches the office of the undersigned before the last date, that is by 6 pm on September 9. All the documents (date of birth certificate, educational qualifications, caste certificate, eligibility certificates) with the form must be sent to – The Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Headquarters (Personnel & Establishment), 151 floor, room no. 14, Aayakar Bhawan, P-7, Chowringhee Square, Kolkata-700069.

Applications from meritorious sports persons who has participated in games like – Football / Cricket / Basketball / Athletics / Swimming / Volleyball etc will only be accepted. Also, the candidates who have represented its country in an International competition in any of these games or have participated in Inter-University tournaments conducted by Association of Indian Universities Sports Board or have been involved in National Games organized by Indian Olympics Association will be considered suitable for the recruitment.

In respect to the selection of the eligible candidates, an evaluation will be made on the basis of their performance in last three years (2016, 2017, 2018), age and highest achievement in their career in respective sport events. After which they will be called by the Selection Committee for verification of the original documents submitted by them along with their applications. The shortlisted ones will have to again appear in Ground Proficiency tests on which their proficiency will be assessed for the sports they have taken part. Then, a final merit list will be prepared after the assessment.

All the nominated candidates will be posted at any place in West Bengal and Sikkim region and will be under a probation period of 2 years. A tax assistant will be paid in Pay Level 4 of the pay matrix with a Grade Pay of Rs 2400 in PB-I of Rs.S200-20200/- and MTS in Pay Level 1 with a Grade Pay of Rs 1800/- in PB-l of Rs.S200-20200/-.
