Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has started the online registration for JEE Advanced 2019 on May 03. 2019 at 10:00 AM. The candidates can register for JEE Advanced 2019 online at jeeadv.ac.in. No offline forms are released, hence, a candidate need to complete the registration process by online mode only.
Before a candidate register online, here are 5 important points to note. First and foremost is the eligibility criteria. There are 5 criterions which a candidate need to fulfill in order to apply for JEE Advanced. Criterion 1 is performance in JEE Main 2019. Candidates should be among the top 2,45,000 (including all categories) in Paper 1 of JEE Main 2019.
Criterion 2 is the age limit. A candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1994. Furthermore, 05 years relaxation is given to candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD, this means that candidates belonging to the reserved category should have been born on or after October 1, 1989.
Criterion 3 is the number of attempts. An aspirant can attempt JEE (Advanced) maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
Criterion 4 is the appearance in Class 12th (or equivalent) examination. This means that a candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2018 or 2019.
Last but not the least Criterion 5 is Earlier admission at IITs. A candidate should not have been admitted in an IIT irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past. Furthermore, those whose admission at IITs was canceled after joining any IIT are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2019.
To apply for JEE Advanced 2019, the candidates need to visit the official website. On the homepage of the website, click on the link for New registration. Aspirants have to log in with JEE (Main) 2019 Application No and Password. On successful login, all personal, academic and contact details; as furnished to JEE (Main) 2019 will be displayed. The candidate will be given an option to provide an additional phone number and email id. Furnish additional information for JEE (Advanced) like choice of examination cities (06 choices), class XII (or equivalent) examination Roll no. etc.
After filling in all the necessary information, upload the scanned images of the documents. Remember that the images must be uploaded as per the specification and format or else form can get rejected.
The registration fee for JEE Advanced 2019 is Rs. 1300 for Female Candidates (all categories), SC, ST, PwD Candidates, Rs. 2600 for all other category candidates. This is the registration fee if a candidate wishes to appear for JEE Advanced in the examination cities in India. Registration Fee for Examination Cities in Foreign countries is USD 75 for all Indian nationals, USD 75 for candidates from SAARC countries, and USD 150 for candidates from Non-SAARC countries. The fee is to be paid by online mode or by cash using SBI Branch Option.
JEE Advanced is scheduled to be held on May 27, 2019, in 2 slots, 09:00 AM to 12:00 noon and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This is a national level for IIT admission in order to pursue any Bachelor’s, Integrated Masters or Bachelor-Master Dual Degree courses in Engineering, Sciences or Architecture courses. Under JEE Advanced, a candidate needs to attempt 2 papers in online mode. Both of these papers has 3 sections, namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. A noteworthy fact about JEE Advanced is to appear for this exam a candidate needs to necessarily score valid JEE Main 2019 score.
