Not much time is left that the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2019) notification will be released by the conducting IIT. This year, IIT Madras will conduct GATE 2019. This has been confirmed on the official website of IIT Guwahati that had organised GATE 2018. In the official site, iitg.ac.in, it is also indicated that the GATE 2019 details will be available soon.
GATE 2019 details about exam dates, exam fee, eligibility criteria and exam centres are made available via this initial notice. The detailed information is released later in the information brochure. In 2018, GATE notification was uploaded as a posted in the month of July. Thus, it is likely that IIT Madras might upload the notification soon.

Details about the GATE 2019 examination will be also available in various national newspapers. Lates this year, around September, the online application process is expected to begin. An online portal dedicated to GATE is also hosted by the conducting IIT. This portal is commonly known as GOAPS.
GATE 2019 examination will be held in February 2019. There will be 23 papers, out of which candidates will be allowed to appear in one paper only.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination that intends to tests the comprehensive understanding of the students in various engineering courses. This examination is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee).
The score of GATE is used for admissions to post-graduate programmes (eg. M.E., M.Tech., direct PhD) in Indian Higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by MHRD. Also, various PSUs accept GATE score for recruitment purpose. In addition to that, GATE 2019 scores remain valid for a period of 3 years.
There is no age limit to be able to appear in GATE 2019. In a nutshell, graduates from engineering and science backgrounds can appear in GATE as long as they fulfil other eligibility criteria like the year of passing the qualifying examination. The examination is conducted online and across the nation, also in a few cities outside India.
