IIT KGP to Start JAM 2019 Registration from 1 Sep via JOAPS

JAM 2019 Registration

Indian institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is responsible for conducting Joint Admission Test (JAM) 2019 for admission to 2 year M.Sc., joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, dual degree and other PG degree courses. The examination will be held on February 10, 2019, in two shifts. The first session of JAM 2019 will held from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon for Biological Sciences (BL), Mathematics (MA), and Physics (PH) paper subjects. Whereas, JAM 2019 for Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) , and Mathematical Statistics (MS) subject papers will be conducted from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Since JAM is conducted for post graduate admission, candidates possessing bachelor’s degree can apply for it. However, in graduation course, the CGPA / CPI of the candidates should be on or above 55% (5.5 out of 10). Same for the candidates belonging to SC / ST / PwD category is 50% (5 out of 10). The CGPA / CPI is to be calculate without the round off.

The students who fulfill this eligibility criteria, can apply for the examination from September 01 to October 10, 2018. The registration for JAM will open through an online candidate portal, JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS). To access it, the candidates will need Enrollment ID / Email ID and Password. It will be provided to the students when they will sign in. Once the JOAPS is accessible, the candidates may fill the details in the application form.

In the form, the candidates will have to submit details related to themselves, like name, gender, age, date of birth, etc. Other than this, education qualification related information, communication particulars, and few other information is also to be provided in the form.

IIT KGP will not accept the application form, until the fee amount is paid by the candidates. The application fee is Rs. 1500 for one paper and Rs. 2100 for two papers. However, if the candidates belong to SC / ST / PwD category then the amount of fee is Rs. 750 for one paper and Rs. 1050 for two papers.

It is advised that the candidates fill correct details in the application form because IIT will not allow change or editing. However, candidates will be able to add subject paper before the closing date by paying the requisite amount of fee. Despite all, candidates will get the chance to change the category or gender but to do so, they will have to pay certain fee, which will be as follows:

Once the application form submitting will end the conducting body will begin the scrutinizing data in the form. If any error will be detected, the candidates will be informed through e-mail and sms and will get few days to correct the mistake.

Against the successfully submitted application from, the admit card will be issued. The admit card of JAM 2019 will release on January 04, 2019. It will also be uploaded on the JOAPS and candidates will have to download it as and produce a hard copy of it. Good luck to all the candidates who will be appearing for JAM 2019.
