Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) released the online application form for CEED 2020 and UCEED 2020 today. The application forms are now available at ceed.iitb.ac.in for the Common Entrance Exam for Design, the entrance exam for M.Des and PhD programs. And at uceed.iitb.ac.in for Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design, the entrance exam for B.Des program.
The registration deadline for both the exams are common. Last date to apply with normal fee amount is exactly one month from now, that is November 9, 2019. Whereas the deadline to apply with a late fee is November 16, 2019. Both the exams are scheduled to be held on January 18, 2020.
CEED 2020 is the entrance exam for admission to Master of Design (M.Des) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, IIITDM Jabalpur. It also leads to Ph.D programmes in Design at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur. Whereas UCEED 2020 is for Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) admission to IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur.
How to apply for CEED 2020 and UCEED 2020?
To apply for CEED 2020, go to ceed.iitb.ac.in (automatically redirects to ceed.iitb.ac.in/2020/) and click registration. Likewise for UCEED 2020, go to uceed.iitb.ac.in which takes you to uceed.iitb.ac.in/2020/ and click on click here link against start date of online registration. These actions respectively take to the registration apps for the exams.
Clicking on registration links on the app pages open the registration portal. In order to apply online, the candidates need to register first by providing their email ID and contact details. Once the registration is done, the candidates can proceed to fill in details like their personal information, academic details, communication details, etc in the application form.
Also, the candidates have to upload the images of their scanned copy of their passport size photo, signature, qualifying exam/degree/diploma certificate, category certificate, etc. Once the candidates have filled-in details and paid the application fee, then next the candidates can proceed to pay the registration fee.
For IIT CEED 2020, the registration fee is Rs. 1300 for all women, SC / ST / PwD candidates, and Rs. 2,600 for all other candidates. However, for IIT UCEED 2020, the registration fee is Rs. 1500 for all women, SC / ST / PwD candidates, and Rs. 3000 for all other candidates. The application fee is to be paid by online mode through Credit card, debit card and net-banking.
UCEED 2020 examination consist of two parts: Part A and Part B. It is mandatory to appear and qualify in both the parts. Part A will contains three sections-NAT, MSQ and MCQ, whereas, Part B contains a drawing question. The overall time duration of the examination is 3 hours.
On the other hand, CEED examination is conducted in two parts — Part A which a computer-based test and Part B which is a drawing test. Part A contains objective type questions — numerical answer type questions (NAT), multiple select questions (MSQ) and multiple choice questions (MCQ). Candidates who are shortlisted in Part A using the method mentioned in the brochure will qualify for the evaluation of Part B which includes drawing, creativity, communication skills, and problem identification skills.
