The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) is an institute for training and research in population studies. And recently the institute has sent out notifications for recruitment for various posts in different departments, vide the advertisement no: ADMIN/02/2019.
The posts announced in the advertisements are that of a professor in mathematical, demography and statistical department, assistant registrar in an academic department and telephone operator in the administration department.
Along with with the positions the authority has also mentioned the age bar that a candidate must adhere to and ensure the same before applying for the post. For the post of a professor, one must check that their age is below or upto 50 years. The upper age limit for the assistant registrar is 45 years which is relaxable by the executive council in suitable cases. The same for the post of telephone operator is 30 years.
If we look at the educational qualification one must have a master degree and 3 years of experience in educational administration if applying for the assistant registrar post. For, going for the telephone operator post, a candidate should have minimum SSC with telephone operators certificate from a recognized institute. And additionally 2 years of experience in working in any organization as a telephone operator in the EPBAX system. For those looking for a professor post must check they have a PhD degree in the relevant subjects listed in ICSSR with specialization in population studies. Apart from this, they should have a minimum of 10 years of experience. Furthermore, an experience of guiding a student for the award of PhD degree and have at least 5 publications of themselves published in the journals related to public health and mortality.
Candidates fulfilling all the criteria including the educational and the age bar can then apply for the online form at IIPS website which is – iipsindia.ac.in. On visiting the website one can avail the online form under the “career tab”. Fill the detailed application form, upload the relevant documents and at the end take the print out of the filled-in application form.
The print out of the form along with the documents has to be sent in an enclosed envelope through the post to “The Director & Sr. Prof. International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) Govandi Station Road, Deonar, Mumbai 400 088”. Must note that one has to mention the: advertisement number, application for the post of and the department. The last date of receiving the forms is January 6, 2020.
For all the people presently employed in government, semi-government, public sector undertaking, university or recognized educational institute they have to also submit the No Objection Certificate from their employer.
The candidate selected for the post of a professor will be hired under the pay level 14 getting an entry pay of Rs. 1,44,200. And as assistant registrar and telephone operator, they are hired under, pay level 10 and 2 respectively.
The International Institute for Population Sciences focuses on the research area related to population and is located in Mumbai. It was declared as a deemed university by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. It offers various master, diploma and doctoral level program for the students.
