Indira Gandhi National Open University has clarified through an official advisory that the last date to submit assignments for the June 2021 Term End Examination has not been extended. As per earlier official updates, the last date to submit the June 2021 TEE assignments is today i.e. May 31, 2021. As per reports, students have received notification regarding such a date extension by regional centres.
IGNOU has posted on the official Twitter handle earlier that there is no extension of the last date to submit the June 2021 TEE assignments or practicals. The national open university has tweeted that “…the university has not issued any notification with regard to extension of submission date for Assignments or Practicals for June 2021 Term End Examinations“. The last date to submit the assignments and practicals is today. Both online and offline submissions have to be completed by today.
As per reports, candidates who were enrolled for the June 2021 Term End Examination of the Indira Gandhi National Open University in 2021 have received notifications through social media platforms like Facebook, Whatsapp and Telegram. Reportedly, these notifications have been sent by the regional centres of the University located in all major cities across the country. The University has however denied any such extension of the last date and the earlier announced last date of May 31, 2021 prevails as valid.
In response to the advisory tweet by the University, students have however shown an inclination toward extension of dates. Students have responded to the tweet with a request for extension of the last date due to ongoing lockdown in almost all parts of the country due to the pandemic situation.
One candidate has pointed out that the information regarding date extension has been circulated through Facebook, Whatsapp and Telegram by the regional centres. The candidate added in the response tweet that the IGNOU website publishes official notices late. As such, students rely on information relayed through social media.
In another instance, a student (presumably from West Bengal) have cited the recent destruction caused by cyclone Yass in eastern Indian especially in the state of Odisha and West Bengal. The student has replied to the tweet that study materials have not been received and due to the cyclone, she is facing problems, thus requesting a date extension.
There is no clarity as to whether the University will consider the cases of such students and extend the last date again. However, as of now, students are advised to submit their assignments/practicals as soon as possible by today.
