The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) on April 24, 2023, at CMA Bhawan in New Delhi.
The first MOU was signed between ICMAI and IGNOU, where they agreed to jointly develop an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programme called “Diploma in Agricultural Cost Management.” This is the first course of its kind in India and aims to create awareness and human resources in the area of agricultural cost management by imparting knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial capabilities of the farming communities. The programme will benefit progressive farmers, urban/rural youth, small and medium entrepreneurs, extension workers, NGO functionaries/trainers, members of cooperative societies, self-help groups, and more.
The second MOU was signed between ICMAI and ICSI, where they have agreed to grant paper-wise exemption on a reciprocal basis to the students under the new syllabus of both institutes. This agreement will promote a synergistic relationship and benefit the students. ICMAI and ICSI have been granting paper-wise exemptions under reciprocal arrangements to students for the papers of their respective courses for more than two and a half decades.
The MOUs were signed in the presence of CMA Vijender Sharma, President – ICMAI, CMA P Raju Iyer, Immediate Past President – ICMAI, CMA Biswarup Basu, Former President – ICMAI, CMA Kaushik Banerjee, Secretary -ICMAI, and representatives from IGNOU and ICSI.
