IBPS has made an announcement of IBPS SO 2018 recruitment on October 26, 2018. The official notification for the recruitment of Specialist Officer (SO) is available on the official website of Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) at ibps.in. The application window will start from November 06, 2018.
An Indian citizen who falls under the age bar of 20 to 30 years and who have a relevant educational qualification, is eligible to apply. A 20-day registration window will be provided to the candidates. The application window will be used for making the payment. The fee and application form should be submitted before November 26, 2018.
The application fee for Specialist Officer exam differs as per the category of the candidate. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD have to pay Rs. 100/-, the candidates who belong to all other categories have to pay Rs. 600/-. The mode of payment is online, the candidates can use a Credit Card/ Debit Card / Net Banking details to make the payment.
Vacancy has increased as compared to last year
IBPS will select 1599 candidates through this recruitment in the academic year 2019 – 2020. While in the academic year 2018 – 2019, 1,315 Specialist Officers (SO) were selected in the various public sector banks other participating organizations. Hence this time 284 more candidates will get the chance to be SO.
The candidates can apply for the different posts as per their qualification and interest. IBPS conducts the examination for the following posts I.T. Officer (Scale-I), Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I), Law Officer (Scale I), HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I), Marketing Officer (Scale I), Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I).
Selection Procedure of Specialist Officer
The selection procedure of SO is based on an online preliminary examination and online main examination. The candidates who will enroll their names for SO recruitment before the deadline, IBPS will issue them the admit card for preliminary examination. The admit card will be issued in the month of December 2018. In the same month, the prelims will take place. The prelims examination will hold on December 29 & 30, 2018.
When the prelims will over the qualified candidates have to appear in the online main examination. The main exam will be held on January 27, 2018. Qualifiers of prelims and main examination have to appear in the personal interview, which will hold in the month of February 2019. At last, all the selected candidates will get the provisional allotment in the month of April 2019.
Examination Pattern differs for each post. For each post the preliminary examination pattren differs. Same trend will be applicable in main examination.
The prelim examination is consists of 150 question. The maximum marks allotted to prelims examination is 125. The entire paper has to be completed in 02 hours.
While the main examination has to be completed in 45 minutes who will apply for Law Officer, IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer, and Marketing Officer.
Whereas the candidates who will enroll their names for the post of Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari will have to complete the exam in 01 hours. The notification of recruitment process contains all the information of the exam.
