That banking jobs are in high demand is no secret. Of the crore government job aspirants in India, a big portion dream to work in a bank. To achieve this goal they prepare day and night for bank job exams conducted by three key bodies namely SBI, RBI, and IBPS. This year IBPS released Regional Rural Bank notification to recruit 5123, 1747, 169, 8298 Officer Scale I, Officer Scale II, Officer Scale III, Officer Assistants. As per reports, around 1 million candidates applied in it.
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection held prelims for Office Assistant and Officer Scale I in September and its results were announced in October. Then mains exam for Officers Scale I and single exam for Officer Scale II, III were held on November 5, 2017. Exactly eighteen days after that the institute has announced IBPS RRB PO Mains Result 2017.
From the evening of November 23, 2017, candidates who appeared in single or mains exam can check their result. To check result one needs to log in using registration number or roll number, and date of birth or password. They can know whether they have qualified or not. Ones who qualify need to attend interviews. Cut off may or may not be available right now. Usually cut off comes together for mains and interview.
For each post, IBPS shortlists a number of candidates not more than three times of vacancies. This translates to the number of candidates being shortlisted for Officer Scale I, II, III being around 15369, 5241, 507. Overall, around 21117 candidates will be successful on basis of IBPS RRB PO Mains Result 2017. A Common Interview is coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks with the help of NABARD and IBPS in consultation with appropriate authority. Interview experiences of previously selected candidates suggest that interview questions can vary depending upon post, interviewer, candidate background, and general direction of interview as per initial conversation.
In interview, it is necessary to take call letter of IBPS RRB which is issued for interview purpose only. It is of one hundred marks. A weightage of 80% goes to CWE and rest 20% to interview for Officers cadre. Candidates need to take relevant documents also on day of interview. Final result in form of provisional allotment will come after that.
A quick math shows, that if really 10 lakh candidates had applied for IBPS RRB recruitment, and of that only 15337 will be recruited, then number of candidates who succeed is a mere 1.5%. as can be seen, getting through in a bank job is definitely not easy. Those who do not qualify, must therefore, not get tensed or disappointed. There are other options for sure.
To start with, there are more bank recruitment. IBPS itself holds other exams such as for clerical cadre, probationary officers, specialist officers. Then SBI also conducts recruitment for various posts similar to IBPS. Reserve Bank of India is also a highly sought after organization wherein there are recruitment for assistants, Grade B officer, Grade A. Apart from these, there are bank level exams such as by Union Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Central Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, and several more.
It is also interesting to note that those who apply for bank recruitment also try out other government jobs, for instance, UPSC, SSC, and other state level exams. Thus, if one is not able to clear IBPS RRB PO Mains Result 2017, they should definitely look out for more options also along with trying for PO again. There is no dearth of opportunities, one only has to seek them out.
