Vellore Institute of Technology will hold the VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) 2021. The exam will be conducted on 28, 29, and 31 May 2021 as an Online Remote Proctored Exam. The exams were earlier scheduled to be held in June in a physical mode. The last date to apply for the exam is May 20, 2021. All registered candidates will be allowed to book their VITEEE 2021 slots after May 20. The details for slot booking will be intimated to the candidates via their registered email id / phone number. Link for slot booking will be also made available online at vit.ac.in.
Just after the slot booking is done, candidates will be able to download the admit card for the test. Now, this is the first time that VIT is holding VITEEE as a remote proctored exam. A Remote proctored exam means, candidates will be able to appear for the exam from any place that is convenient for them. This step is taken to follow the COVID-19 safety protocols.
For VITEEE 2021, candidates will be appearing for the national level paper from their personal devices (laptop / desktop) while they will be supervised by an examiner using a web camera.
The total duration of the exam will be 90 minutes. 25 questions will come from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, individually. On the other hand, 3 questions will be asked from aptitude and 2 in English. There will be total 80 MCQs in the whole exam. For each correct response, one mark will be awarded and there will be no negative marking.
VIT University has officially released the syllabus for VITEEE 2021. The syllabus has been published as 5 PDF files, one each for the subjects physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, English-aptitude. The syllabus for VITEEE includes topics taught in 11th and 12th of physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, and some aspects of english and aptitude.
VITEEE is held annually, for admission to B.Tech program in VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT AP, and VIT Bhopal. Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2021 should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
The previous year, VITEEE exam was cancelled due to COVID-19 and lockdown. Admissions to the B.Tech programme in the varsity were offered on the basis of Class 12 marks only.
