How to apply for NEET 2020? NTA explains step by step process

Know the 4 simple steps to fill the NEET 2020 application form.

How to apply for NEET 2020

NEET 2020 application form fill up includes 4 steps. They are registration, filling up the application form, uploading documents, and payment of fees. The only mode of applying is online, offline applications or requests of such kind will not be accepted by NTA. 

NTA has said that all candidates can apply for NEET 2020 exam by logging on to ntaneet.nic.in. 

Before logging in, candidates should make a few preparations. 

First, be ready with the 5 documents required to be uploaded in the NEET 2020 application form; latest passport size photograph, post card size photograph which is 4 by 6 inches, signature, left thumb impression, class 10 passing certificate. After scanning them, the file size of their digital versions should respectively be 10 to 200 kb, 50 to 300 kb, 4 to 30 kb, and 10 to 50 kb, 100 to 400 kb. 

Besides these, secondary school examination certificate, id proofs from which one can refer details and spellings of names, ID numbers should also be handy. 

Then, proceed to ntaneet.nic.in and navigate to the application form. 

Step one in filling the application form is to do registration. To register, fill name, mother’s name, father’s name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, complete postal address with PIN code. In registration, also enter data of one ID proof such as aadhaar, class 12 roll number, EPIC number, ration card, bank account passbook with photo, passport number.

Then the step number two is to fill the application form. Enter category, nationality, state or UT code, pwd status, choice of exam cities, medium of question paper, academic details, single girl child status, minority status, details of father or guardian or mother. 

After that the third step in filling application form of NEET 2020 is to upload scanned images. 

The fourth and the last step is to pay application fee and print confirmation page. Available modes are debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI. 

In the end, the generation of confirmation page confirms that application form is submitted. NTA has asked to preserve at least 4 copies of the confirmation page.

NTA will accept applications for India’s only medical entrance exam from today, December 2, 2019 onwards to until December 31, 2019. However the last date to pay fee would be January 1, 2020. 

There is a hike of 6-7% in application fee as compared to last time. This time the fee for general candidates is Rs 1500, Rs 1400 for general EWS and OBC NCL, and it is Rs 800 for SC, ST, PWD, transgender candidates. Service charges and GST to the tune of 18% will be additional.

NTA is releasing the NEET 2020 application form today, at 4 pm. Already, the premier testing agency has released information bulletin of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test on the official website ntaneet.nic.in, detailing steps to apply. The 15 lakh candidates who are gearing up to apply for the NEET UG exam can first understand the steps, and then proceed to apply.

Candidates should also go through the demo of application form to understand what to write where in the form. However even after all precautions, if any mistakes are made inadvertently, then they can be corrected during the form correction which will be available from January 15 to 31, 2020. 

Based on details entered in the form only, NTA will generate and issue admit cards for applicants, and provide the same vide ntaneet.nic.in from March 27, 2020 onwards. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020 on May 3, 2020. With AIIMS and JIPMER cancelled, this is the only medical entrance exam for admission to undergraduate courses admissions to medical, dental, ayurveda, siddha, unani, homeopathy.
