Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation has released a recruitment notification 2019 for appointments to its project wing, O&M wing and training institute on a contractual basis. Eligible candidates can apply for a total of 44 vacancies till December 12, 2019.
GMRC is recruiting candidates under the project wing for the posts of general manager (electrical, signalling & telecom, finance), joint general manager, manager (rolling stock and E&M), assistant manager (E&M, admin, asset mgt.) and engineer of rolling stock.
Similarly for the O&M wing, GMRC recruitment is for deputy general manager (traction, signalling, rolling stock and telecom), manager (operations, E&M, traction, signalling and PSD), assistant manager (E&M, signalling and telecom & AFC), Sr. Supervisor, Sr. station controller and RRV operators.
For the training institute, the positions are open for the manager, senior section engineer (signalling & telecom, rolling stock and civil or track) and lastly for the senior supervisor in operations filed.
Educational qualification requirement differs for each post in the specific wing. For some posts bachelor’s degree is desirable while for others having a master’s degree is mandatory. Along with the essential qualification, one must also possess some years of experience.
However, if one is applying for the post under the general manager domain then the age prescribed by GMRC is upto 58 years, for the manager’s it is 38 years, upto 30 years for the assistant managers and the same for the deputy general manager is 45 years.

The first thing one has to do is to visit the website which is gujaratmetrorail.com. On the home page, select the career tab. Soon after the click, a new window opens, having links to the recruitment. Select the ongoing recruitment and click on the “apply online post”.
According to the form details, one has to fill the form using the personal details, experience details, educational details and also applicants has to upload their scanned photograph and resume. The last date of receipt of the form is December 12, 2019.
For the selection procedure candidates will be called for the interview. The call letter for the interview will be issued in due course of time mentioning the date, time and venue of the interview. As per the selection criteria, shortlisted candidates will be put on board for a contact of initially 3 to 5 years. As per the guidelines, the same is extendable on the basis of the requirement and other factors. GMRC says the contract can also be terminated from both the side by giving 30 days or 90 days (depending upon the post) notice.
