Gujarat State Examination Board was all set to conduct TET 2 on July 30, 2017. Teacher Eligibility Test was to be taken by several aspirants who wish to become teachers in Gujarat. Unfortunately, heavy rains have caused GSEB to decide to postpone GSEB TET 2. A new date for exam shall be decided based on logistical availability and return to normalcy in state.
Several people in Gujarat are marooned due to floods. Traffic is worst hit in several areas. As a relief to citizens of state, Army, IAF, NDRF have intensified rescue operations. A release by State Emergency Operation Centre says that more than 200 mm rain was recorded at 12 talukas, whereas those with maximum rain had as much as 305 to 463 mm rains.
Among such conditions, conduct of Gujarat Teacher Eligibility Test seems least feasible. Candidates who have been preparing for it are advised to not panic, and continue with preparation. Exam conducting body will assess situation in state, and whenever it is safe to hold exam, a new date will be announced. It is likely that fresh hall tickets may be issued for new exam date. Initially, GSEB TET 2 was to be held on July 30, 2017, from 3 PM to 5 PM. Candidates were asked to report at time mentioned in admit card, or before that. Whenever exam is re-scheduled, it will be a two hour test with same pattern as earlier notified. Other parameters of exam shall remain same. If there are any changes in instructions for test date, they will be printed in admit card and uploaded on website of exam conducting body. When exam was on July 30, admit card was issued on July 15, 2017. Next time exam is to happen, admit card is expected to be published at least 15 days before exam. In fact GSEB provided for additional hall tickets also for those who had been unable to print hall ticket.
