Gujarat Government has recently announced that the Gujarat Boards Exam 2021 for Class 10 and Class 12 is postponed. Also, Students of Class 1 to Class 9 and Class 11 will be promoted to the next class without examination. Due to the increasing number of COVIS-19 cases in the state, the Gujarat Government has decided to postpone the exam until further notice. The new schedule for Gujarat Board Exam 2021 will be released on May 15, 2021.

Also, mass promotion of students of class 1 to class 9 and class 11 will be done. On reviewing the situation of COVID-19, the Board will release new dates for the Gujarat boards exam on May 15, 2021. The rising number of COVID-19 cases in the Gujarat state and country is a major cause of concern these days. Each day, lakhs of new COVID-19 cases are reported across the nation. The ongoing alarming situation does not allow the state government to conduct the Class 10 and Class 12 Boards examination as several students will be appearing for the examination at the different test centre. This may lead to mass gathering thus increasing the chances of spead of COVID-19.
Students who were appearing for the boards exam this year also demanded the postponement of Class 10th and Class 12th Boards. Also, a nationwide hashtag #cancelboardexams2021 is in trend these days leading to the postponement of the CBSE Boards examination.
Moreover, CMO Gujarat, the official Twitter handle, has said the new dates for Gujarat Boards Exam 2021 will be announced on May 15, 2021. It is expected that the Government may have a meeting before the announcement. Only after analysing the situation of COVID-19 will the government release the new dates for Gujarat Boards Exam 2021.
Furthermore, Gujarat Government is not the first state board to postpone the Boards examination. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently announced that the exam for Class 12 are postponed whereas Class 10th exams are cancelled. Also, Maharashtra Board, UP Board, MP Board has postponed and called the Class 10 and Class 12 Boards exam.
