Delhi Subordinate Service Selection Board (DSSSB) has released advertisement no. 04/19 at dsssb.delhi.gov.in for recruitment to the post of fire operator in Delhi Fire Service department, with 706 vacancies. The online applications for this recruitment will be available from October 07, 2019, to November 06, 2019 at dsssbonline.nic.in.
The vacancy break up for fire operator post code 18/19 is as follows. There are 190 vacancies for UR, 21 for EWS, 115 for OBC, 309 for SC, and 71 for ST. DSSSB will be offering a pay scale of Rs 5200-20200 + grade pay Rs 2000 for this post.
DSSSB fire operator recruitment 2019 notification contains vacancy breakup, how to apply, selection process, syllabus,reservation, age relaxation, and other instructions. Any class 10 or matric pass candidate who possess a valid license for driving heavy duty vehicles is eligible to apply for the post of fire operator. The maximum age of the candidate should be of 27 years.
SC, ST candidates will get age concession of 5 years, OBC as 3 years, and meritorious sports persons will get for 5 years.
Besides that, the minimum height of the candidate should be 165 cms, 50 kg weight, 81 cms (normal chest), and 86.5 cms (chest expanded) and an eye sight of 6/6. Candidates who are not eligible for the fire operator are those who wear glasses, have squint eyes, color blindness, have flat feet, knock knee, deformity of any limb, extra limb.
Before applying online, candidates must read the instructions carefully which is available in the website of the Board. The amount of the application fee is Rs 100. Candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex-servicemen are exempted from paying the the application fee. The requisite fee has to be submitted via SBI e-pay. Other mode of payment will not be considered.
DSSSB will select the candidates on the basis of one tier examination scheme and physical endurance test as prescribed by the Chief Fire Officer. The exam schedule is due to be out soon. However, the one tier exam will contain questions from general awareness, general intelligence & reasoning ability, arithmetical & numerical ability, and hindi language & comprehension and english language & comprehension.
There will be 40 multiple choice questions in each section. Overall there will be 200 questions of 200 marks. The duration of exam will be 2 hours. Negative marking to the tune of 0.25 marks per wrong answer shall apply.
The qualifying marks in written exam are also specified in the notification. As per it, general candidates must get 40%. Delhi OBC should score 35%, SC, ST, PH should get 30%.
