A detailed notification has been released for recruitment to the post of constable (GD) in Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) through recruitment rallies. The rally will take place in the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Applications are invited from male and female candidates belonging to the specified areas till November 14, 2019. For male candidates, the total number of vacancies announced is 1184 out of which 618 are for BSF and 566 are for CISF. Similarly, a separate 172 number of vacancies are announced for female candidates segregated under 109 for BSF and 63 for CISF.
In order to be eligible for the post, candidates must lie in the age group of 18 to 23 years of age as on August 1, 2019. But for OBC candidates the upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years and by 5 years for SC/ST. Only in the cases of the re-employment or ex-servicemen the upper age limit is relaxed upto the extent of military service plus 3 years. As far as educational qualification is concerned an applicant must be matriculation or 10th class passed out from a recognized board or university.
It is critical to know that for seeking any relaxation whether, against vacancies or age, they must submit requisite certificate from the relevant authority. Also, for re-employment cases in the army, the break should not exceed 2 years.
Candidates who fulfil the above the criteria along with the specified physical and medical standards shall personally appear at the PST and PET centers for registration of their application. Candidates can download the formatted application form from the website bsf.nic.in and bsf.gov.in.
Along with the application, form candidates have to carry along the self-attested copies of educational certificate, proof of date of birth, caste certificate, domicile certificate and any one of the identity proof be it aadhar card, voter id card etc.
For appearing for the selection procedure admit cards also have to be filled and submitted along with the passport size photograph along with the application form as per the format.
For the selection purposes, the recruitment process taken into consideration is the conduct of Physical standard test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and written test. All the eligible candidates will go for the height check-up and after clearing it, they will be subjected to a 5 km race for male and 1.6 Kms for female. The candidates who will qualify the PST & PET will appear for the written test. It is of 100 objective questions of 100 marks to be completed in 2 hours.
The selected candidates will be hired in level 3 of the pay matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission getting a salary ranging from Rs. 21700 to Rs. 69100. Addition to this admissible allowances will be to central government employees from time to time. It must also be noted that the post has all India liability i.e after selection candidates can be posted anywhere in India and with no surprise even outside India or abroad.
