Karnataka State Police (KSP) invites online applications for recruitment 2019-20 to 3041 vacancies. There are 2013 vacancies of civil police constable men and women, and 1028 vacancies for armed police constable men. This is the largest recruitment in Karnataka Police so far this year.
The notification for armed police constable is notification no. 8/recruitment-4/2019-20. Whereas that for civil police constable is notification no. 9/recruitment-4/2019-20. The last date to apply against both is October 17, 2019.
To fill the application form against vacancies in KSP 2019, candidates can either first go to ksp.gov.in, click on current recruitment, then click police recruitment-2019; this will take them to rec19.ksp-online.in. Or directly go to rec19.ksp-online.in. There, you have to click on click here to register against whichever notification out of the two you want to apply.
The application fee is Rs 250 for all candidates except the reserved category candidates, for whom it is Rs 100. KSP 2019 online application form is given in Kannada and English, but candidates have to fill it in English only.
Documents to be uploaded in the form include passport size photograph, signature, ID card. They should all be in jpeg, or jpg, or png, or gif format, and not be more than 250 kb each. After filling the form, to pay at once, generate post challan and pay fee during working hours of post office. The last date to pay fee is October 19, 2019.
KSP 2019 recruitment selection process for civil police constable, and armed police constable will consist of written exam, endurance test, and physical test.
For the armed police constable posts, candidates should be class 10 pass and satisfy age criteria. General candidates should be between 18 to 25 years old. SC, ST, cat-01, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B should be between 18 to 27 years old. Tribal candidates must be between 18 to 30 years old. Karnataka State Police has also made an age calculator, using which, candidates can enter their date of birth and check whether they are eligible or not.
Whereas for civil police constable post, candidate should be class 12th pass and satisfy age criteria. General candidates should be 19 to 25 years old. SC, ST, cat-01, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B applicants should be between 19 to 27 years old. Tribal candidates should be between 19 to 30 years old.
In the morning, a short notification was released for these two advertisements. Other details of the recruitment are same. However the only difference is the number of vacancies. Previously it was reported that there will be 1013 vacancies of armed police constable, and 2013 for civil police constable. Now, there are 3041 vacancies in total.
Headed by the Director General of Police, the Karnataka State Police has around 80,000 employees. Their jurisdiction is divided into ranges, with each range comprising of a a few districts. There are six ranges. Southern range comprises of Mysuru, Kodagu, Mandya, Hassan and Chamarajanagara. Then the Western range has Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Chickmaglur, and Udupi. Eastern range consists of Chitradurga, Shivamogga, Haveri and Davangere. Then the central range has Tumkuru, Kolar, Bengaluru, Kolar Gold Fields, Chikkaballapura and Ramanagara. Next is the Northern Range with Belagavi, Vijapur, Dharwad, Bagalkot and Gadag. Then the north eastern range with Kalburgi, Bidar and Yadgiri. Finally comes Ballari range with Ballari, Raichur, Koppal.
