GATE 2022 Correction, Display of Defective Application for Rectification from This Date

The display of defective application forms of GATE 2022 is going to commence from October 26, 2021, and the last date to make the correction will be November 01, 2021.

IIT Kharagpur is going to commence the display of defective application form for GATE 2022 on the official website, gate.iitkgp.ac.in from October 26, 2021. The last dates to edit and rectify the details of the GATE 2022 till November 01, 2021. Along with this, the last date to change the category, exam city, and exam paper is November 12, 2021.

After the application form submission is over, the authorities cross-verify the details mentioned by the candidates in the application form of GATE 2022. If upon verification, any detail is found to be wrong or misleading then, the application form is said to be put on hold. After this, the zonal authorities contact the candidates regarding the rectification. The candidates who are been contacted will be required to make changes in the GATE 2022 application form by logging in on the official website.

The candidates who wish to make the corrections in the GATE 2022 application form are allowed to make changes only in the category, gender, subject paper, PWD status, and dyslexic status. The candidates are required to pay the rectification fee as mentioned below:

(iv)Change of gender to female 500

(vi)Change of category to SC/ST 500
(vii)Change of category from SC/ST to any other 500 +  750 =  1250
(viii)Change from Non-PwD to PwD 500
(ix)Change from PwD to Non-PwD 500 +  750 =  1250
(x)Any other change in category (not mentioned above) 500

The candidates need to check out the charges applicable to change or modify the details as mentioned in the table. Only after the payment of the fee, the status of the GATE 2022 application form will be changed from rejected to accepted. Post modifying the details, candidates can check their application form status by simply logging on to the website. If after login, the status displays accepted only then, the application form is said to be successfully accepted by the authorities.

Follow the steps mentioned below to make corrections in the GATE 2022 application form:

Step 1: Visit the official website of GATE, gate.iitkgp.ac.in

Step 2: On the homepage, click the login button and mention enrollment id, password, and captcha code

Step 3: After this, click on the correction facility and rectify the changes in the allowed credentials i.e. category, gender, paper, etc.

Step 4: Next, after rectification of the relevant details, click and pay the application fee as mentioned on the portal for a particular modification and click on the final submit button

Documents required while editing the GATE 2022 application form

The following set of documents must be kept handy while making corrections in the GATE 2022 application form:

  • Scanned copy of Candidate’s category certificate of 10 kb to 300 kb
  • Scanned copy of Candidate’s PWD certificate in the range of 10 kb to 300 kb
