Applicants who had selected Sonipat, Panipat and Idukki as the exam centre preference city for GATE 2022 need to urgently change it. To do so applicants need to visit the official website of GATE 2022 at gate.iitkgp.ac.in. Owing to certain undisclosed reasons, IIT Kharagpur has cancelled the exam in these cities and have opened the correction window for GATE 2022. Candidates can make changes in their application form in this regard before November 12, 2021. No additional fee will be charged from candidates who change their city of preference from the abovementioned ones to another. Other changes/corrections will be charged according to the type of changes committed.
Follow the steps mentioned below to proceed smoothly with the correction procedures:
Step 1: Visit the official website of IIT Kharagpur at gate.iitkgp.ac.in
Step 2: Log in with registered email id and password.
Step 3: Applicant’s previously submitted article will be displayed on the screen. Click on the edit button.
Step 4: Check all the details carefully. If applicants spot any error, make the necessary changes.
Step 5: Pay the amount charged for the changes made in the application.
Step 6: Once again cross-check all the details carefully. Submit the application form.
It must be noted that applicants will not be charged to change their examination city from Sonipat, Panipat and Idukki to any other city of their choice.
As indicated by the test leads of IIT Kharagpur, applicants can alter the accompanying fields in their applications – Name, Gender, Date of Birth, PwD, Dyslexia, Category, Address, Exam Paper, College Details, Additional Exam Paper, and Exam City. Applicants should pay a charge of Rs. 500 for altering all other fields except the changes from PwD/Dyslexic to Non-PwD/Dyslexic, the difference in class from SC/ST to some other, and change of gender from female to some other gender. For these 3 fields, an expense of Rs. 1250 (500+750) will be charged.
IIT Kharagpur has scheduled to conduct the GATE 2022 exam on February 5, 6, 12 and 13, 2022 respectively. Admit cards will be released on January 03, 2022. The test will be conducted in online mode/ computer-based test (CBT) in 2 sessions. One in the forenoon – from 9 am to 12 pm and the other in the afternoon – from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
