GATE 2021 Support Letter Issued at GOAPS For 6 Feb Exam

There is a possibility of road block due to which the public transportation and movement can be effected. Protesting farmers have called "Chakka Jaam" on February 6. IIT Bombay has thus issued the support letter so that GATE candidates are allowed to move without any trouble on their exam day.

IIT Bombay has issued a GATE 2021 support letter. It is an important document which is to be carried with GATE admit card on the exam day. This document is required for smooth movement on the day of the GATE exam. To download the letter, candidates have to login into their GOAPS account at appsgate.iitb.ac.in. IIT Bombay has also emailed and sent SMS to the candidates scheduled to appear for the exam on February 6, 7, 13, and 14, 2021 about the issuance of the support letter. The email has been sent with the subject line GATE 2021 Update for 6th Feb 2021 Exam.

Under the login, that is accessible with the help of Enrollment ID / Email Address and password, candidates can check the link for “Download support letter”. After the GATE 2021 exam ends on February 14, 2021, IIT Bombay will issue the GATE 2021 answer key and question papers of all the 27 subject papers. It is expected that the answer keys might be released 9 days after the exam as per past 2 year trends.

On the day of the exam, candidates must make sure that they are carrying printed copies of the admit card and the issued support letter. The support letter says:

“This is to certify that the bearer of this letter with a valid Admit Card of GATE 2021 is a candidate for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2021), which is a national level examination for possible admission in higher studies or jobs. About 9 lakh candidates all over India, across 200 cities, will appear for this GATE 2021 examination.

This letter is issued to request all concerned to help and ensure a smooth movement of the GATE 2021 candidate carrying the admit card on the day of the examination, i.e. Saturday, 6th February 2021. “

The support letter looks like the one shown below:

The reason for the issuance of the support letter is to allow the candidates to move smoothly to their exam centers as there is a possibility of a three-hour-long ‘chakka jaam’ on February 6. The protesting farmers have decided to call the ‘Bandh’ in and outside of Delhi.

Apart from the support letter and the admit card of GATE 2021, candidates also need to carry with them a valid ID proof and PwD certificate, as prescribed and if needed. The ID proof must be original and non expired. Also, carry the same ID proof that is mentioned on the GATE admit card 2021.

GATE 2021 is being held across 200 cities in India in computer-based test mode. Around 9 lakh candidates will take the exam across 4 days.
