Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, will open GATE 2021 form correction on October 28, 2020. It will open on the official website, at gate.iitb.ac.in. The candidates who have completed the registration and submitted the fee payment by October 12, 2020, will be able to access the form GATE 2021 correction facility. This facility of editing the form will stay open until November 13, 2020.
Using the GATE registration correction facility candidates will be allowed to make changes in the exam city preference, category, and choice of exam papers. There will be an extra charge to change the category and the choice of exam papers. Rs. 500 will be charged as a correction fee. There will be no charges to edit the exam city preferences.
To make corrections in the application form candidates have to visit the official website and locate GOAPS portal (appsgate.iitb.ac.in). In GOAPS, candidates have to login with their Enrollment ID / Email Address and password. Inside the dashboard candidates can start editing their respective online application form. Candidates might have to pay correction fee amount, as applicable.
The correction process must be taken seriously as IITs reject the forms that have incorrect details or are not as per the eligibility. The list of accepted and rejected application forms is published before the publication of the admit card with reasons.
The application form submission process is open currently. The candidates will be able to submit the application form of GATE 20201 until October 7, 2020, with normal charges. However, after October 7, till October 12, 2020, candidates will be able to submit the form with a surcharge of Rs. 500. The normal fee for the GEN / OBC candidates is Rs. 1500 and for the SC / ST / PwD / Transgender / Female, it is Rs. 750.
The eligibility to apply for GATE 2021 has been relaxed, now 3rd year UG candidates can also apply for GATE.
The candidates have to pay the application fee as well as the correction fee online using available payment options like Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.
GATE 2021 is scheduled to be conducted on January 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14, 2021.
GATE 2020 is one of the biggest PG entrance exams for M.E / M.Tech / M.Arch / Ph.D admission. Qualified candidates can apply for admission in the IITs and the institutions supported by the Ministry of Education (erstwhile MHRD) and other Government agencies.
This year there has been an addition of 2 new subject papers in the exam ES (Environmental Science and Engineering) and XH (Humanities and Social Sciences). This makes the total number of papers in GATE 2021 as 27. Students can apply for a maximum of 2 papers starting from this year.
A new type of question has been introduced this time which is Multiple Select Questions (MSQ). Other than that, 2 more types of questions will be asked in the exam that are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions. The total number of questions in each of the subject paper shall be 65.
