Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 login page that is appsgate.iitd.ac.in is facing some technical issues right now. The page is loading slowly, or not at all sometimes. And also the captcha code is not displaying, without which, the applicant cannot proceed to apply online. Last date to fill and submit the GATE 2020 application form without late fee is tomorrow, September 24, 2019.
Since 5 pm, the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) is having this issue. And this is the peak time for applications because most candidates who have realized that deadline is near have been trying to apply today. In fact this – more candidates filling the form at once – is supposed to be the main reason behind the website being slow or not loading as high traffic is known to cause server load and issues.
GATE 2020 organizing body Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is expected to look into the problem and solve it shortly. Either way, the page loading slow issue will reduce automatically at late night hours as there is less server load during off peak times.
To remind candidates of the approaching deadline, IITD has run this message on GOAPS, “The last date (24th September) for submission of online GATE application is approaching. Please complete the registration and payment process as soon as possible. An increased amount of fee needs to be paid if a candidate pays during the extended period from 25th Sept to 1st Oct.”
So tomorrow is not the last date to apply. It is just the last date to apply without normal fee. After tomorrow, that is from September 25, 2019, to October 1, 2019, candidates can still apply by paying Rs 500 extra for Indian centers, and USD 20 extra for outside India centres.
