GATE 2020 Information Brochure Released at gate.iitd.ac.in

The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi) has released the GATE 2020 Brochure today, on July 23, 2019. The IIT has released the brochure online, on the official website, gate.iitd.ac.in. Candidates can open the brochure from the link provided here. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2020 is being conducted by IIT Delhi on 01, 02, 08, 09 February 2020.

One of the important thing which an aspirant should check in the GATE Information brochure is that if they are eligible for the entrance exam or not. Candidates who have obtained their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the respective discipline for which they want to apply are eligible to apply for GATE 2020. Those who are in the final year of  degree examination are also eligible to apply.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national level test which is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee). Candidates with a valid GATE score card are offered admission to various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science. Not only admission, but GATE score is also used by various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) such as Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and more.

The exam conducting body will start the registration of GATE 2020 from September 3, 2019. Candidates can submit the online application till 24 September 2019. Extended closing date for submission of online application is 01 October 2019. Candidates can submit the request for change in the examination center bby paying extra amount till 15 November 2019.

Once the application process is over, the registered candidates will be issued the admit card at GOAP Login on 03 January 2020. The examination is being conducted for 25 subjects (papers) in Online computer-based mode. The online examination paper will contain some questions for which numerical answers must be typed by the candidate using a virtual keypad, whereas, rest of the questions will be of MCQ type.

The brochure contains all the Pre-Examination information such as the Eligibility for GATE 2020, GATE 2020 papers, Examination Cities, Application Process, Application Scrutiny & Rectification, and Admit Card. The Examination related information includes Examination Duration, GATE 2020 Question papers – Exam Pattern, Syllabus and Marking scheme. The Post-Examination information includes details about the GATE 2020 Result and the normalization of the marks in the GATE 2020 exam.

Besides the details mentioned above, there are FAQs regarding the application process, admit card, examination, etc. in the brochure too with the contact information of the Zonal Offices. If the candidates have any queries, then they can refer to the FAQs. Candidates must go through the information brochure carefully and get acquainted with the exam details.

According to the brochure, a new paper called “Bio-medical engineering (BM)” has been introduced in GATE 2020. The exam pattern is same as last year and the application fee is also the same. The exam will be held at the national level and also in 6 International Centres.
