Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has opened the window to edit application form of GATE 2020. As per the latest notification at gate.iitd.ac.in, candidates can now change examination city, candidate’s name, father’s name, college name.
The application form correction window is a facility wherein those who have applied for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, can login through the GOAPS at appsgate.iitd.ac.in and edit the fields that are open for corrections at that moment. In some exams, correction opens once for all fields, in the case of GATE exam, there are separate correction windows for a group of fields.
Whereas four of the personal details are editable now, IITD says to wait for announcement regarding corrections of gender, category, exam paper and other data will begin soon.
There does not appear to be any excess fee related to form correction per se. When it comes to changing category, it is anticipated that excess fee will have to be submitted via available online modes. Whereas if excess fee was given, that is when candidate changes his or her category from one with higher fee to one with lower fee, then excess fee amount is not liable for refund.
Once the form corrections conclude, the organizing body will compile the data of applicants, and issue admit cards for them. GATE 2020 admit card will be released on January 3, 2020. This too will be available online, over the GATE Online Application Processing System at appsgate.iitd.ac.in.
IITD has also provided contact details of SBI team that can be contacted for fee payment issues, such as settlement and refund. For the same, email ID provided is [email protected], and telephone numbers that have been provided are 022-27560266, 022-27560267.
After receiving several complaints about fake mock tests, IITD has launched its own mock test at gate.iitd.ac.in. There is one mock test for every subject. The purpose of the official GATE mock test is to help candidates familiarize with the computer based test environment. Candidates can see how to start the test, how to mark questions, read the question palette, switch between sections, and so on.
A critical point often overlooked is the difference between “marked for review” and “answered and marked for review”. When an answer falls into the latter category, then it is considered for evaluation. In a paper such as GATE, where there is negative marking, this should be taken care of.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 will be held on February 1, 2, 8, and 9, 2020. It will be held in two sessions on each day, or the days where required. The forenoon sessions shall be from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, and afternoon sessions will be from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. In some time, IITD will also release the GATE 2020 paper wise exam schedule.
