Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has announced GATE 2019 Result online, on gate.iitm.ac.in. It will be uploaded on the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) and the candidate need enrollment number / registration number / e-mail id and password to check it. The date for the release of GATE Result 2019 is March 16, 2019, however, as always it has been announced a day before on March 15, 2019. | 15 Mar 2019 (1): IITs has been announcing the result of GATE one day before the due date. Hence, it is expected that even this year, IIT-M will announce GATE 2019 Result on March 15, 2019, instead of March 16, 2019. The past 5 years GATE result date record is as follows:
| 13 Mar 2019: The answer key for GATE 2019 was released on February 19, 2019, on the official website. The candidates could submit objections against it until February 22, 2019. Once all the objections were submitted, IIT-M considered it and made the required changes in the answer key. The final answer key of GATE 2019 was then released on March 13, 2019.
The scorecard of GATE 2019 will release on March 20, 2019. It will also be uploaded on GOAPS and will only be issued to those candidates who will score more than the cut off of GATE 2019. The scorecard withholds the All India Rank and GATE Score. The GATE 2019 Score will be out of 1000. To calculate it, the following formula shall be used:
The validity of GATE 2019 scorecard is 3 years, from the date of result announcement. The candidates should download it and keep a copy of it because during the admission or recruitment it will be needed.
IIT admission through GATE is carried out separately by each IIT. The candidates have to registered for IIT M.Tech / M.E / M.Arch / Ph.D admission and then on the basis of the scores, seat is allocated to them. The allocation of seat is done through a common portal, know as COAP. Through it, the candidates can only check the course and IIT allocated to them.
On the other hand, NITs conduct a separate Centralized Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT) for admission. NITs, IIIT, and CFTIs participate in it. The counselling is held online and the candidates have to register for it through a common platform. After registration, the candidates have to submit choices online. Next, the allocation fo seat allotment is announced through the common portal.
GATE is conducted by IITs, on a rotational basis. Every year, one IIT takes up the responsibility to hold GATE.
