IIT Madras has announced the GATE 2019 Exam Schedule. As per the schedule, Civil Engineering Paper and Mechanical Engineering Paper will be held in 2 sessions and the rest of the 22 papers will be held in single session only. The GATE 2019 Exam Date is February 02, 03, 09 and 10, 2019. There will be 2 sessions each day. The first session will be from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and the second session will be from 2:30 AM to 05:30 PM.
This year in GATE, there has been an addition of a new subject paper, Statistics (ST). This paper will be held in a single shift on February 03, 2019 and in the second session.
On the first day that is on February 02, 2019 in the first shift there will be 3 papers CY, ME-1, MN and in the shift 2, there will be ME-2, XE, XL, TF. On day 2 in the first shift there be 2 papers CS, CH and in the shift 2 there will be AE, AG, AR, BT, EY, GG, IN, MA, MT, PE, PH, PI, ST.
On day 3 in shift 1 there will be one paper EC and in shift 2 there will be one paper again EE. similarly on the last day of the exam in shift 1 and 2 there will be 1 paper each – CE-1 and CE- 2.

The GATE 2019 Admit Card to the provisionally selected candidates will be available from January 04, 2019. The Admit Card is the only document that can be used to enter the examination hall. The Admit Card, however, is to be accompanied by a valid photo id proof like PAN Card, Voter’s ID Card, Passport, Aadhaar card, College Id, Employee Id, Driving License etc.
The GATE 2019 Admit Card / Hall Ticket will be made available to the candidates under the GOAPS. The admit card is to be downloaded, IIT Madras will not be sending any admit card to the candidates via post or any other medium. It has to be only downloaded using the GATE 2019 Login.
The GATE 2019 Admit Card will contain the Date and time of the exam, the exam paper name, registration number, exam center details, photo and signature of the candidate and also there will exam related important instructions.
Earlier IIT Madras has also released the list of candidates who are eligible for the GATE 2019 exam and those whose application forms have been rejected due to duplicacy or some error.
There are 1118 candidates whose application forms have been accepted. 140 applications that were rejected as these candidates did not fulfil the GATE 2019 eligibility criteria and 585 applications that were found to be duplicate.
Each paper in GATE 2019 will have a different exam pattern. However, they also follow a general pattern. The exam will be of 3 hours duration. There will be 1 marks question and 2 marks questions. In the 1 marks question there will be a negative marking of -1/3 and in the 2 marks question there will be a negative marking of -2/3. The total number of questions will be 65 and the total marks will be 100. There will be both Numerical Answer Type Questions and MCQ type questions.
