GAIL recruitment through GATE 2020 is announced. Gail (India) Limited (GAIL) (formerly known as Gas Authority of India Limited) has published detailed advertisement along with answers to most frequently asked questions for recruitment to the post of executive trainee on the basis of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scores.
Starting from February 3, 2020, the online application form for GAIL recruitment through GATE 2020 will be available at gailonline.com. It will be opened for candidates appearing in the national level exam, GATE, in the paper Chemical Engineering (paper code CH) and Instrumentation Engineering (IN). Last date to apply will be March 3, 2020.
Accepted B.Tech programs for ET Chemical are chemical, petrochemical, chemical technology, petrochemical technology, whereas the programmes accepted for ET instrumentation are instrumentation, instrumentation and control, electronics and
instrumentation, electrical and instrumentation, electronics, electrical and electronics.
Minimum marks required in graduation, to be eligible for the recruitment, is 65%. SC, ST, PWD category has minimum requirement of 60%.The GAIL will accept only regular full time courses. Engineering Degree can be BE, B.Tech, B.Sc. Engg.
Candidates who are in their final year examination can also apply for the recruitment, however, the final selection will be subject to obtaining the minimum qualifying marks. Such candidates who have a five-year integrated B.E/B.Tech-M.E/M.Tech degree will also be considered eligible to apply.
GAIL recruitment through GATE 2020 is for the position of executive trainee in the pay scale of Rs 60,000 – 1,80,000 at the basic pay of Rs 60,000 during one year training cum probation as executive trainee in E-2 grade.
There will not be any fee for the application. What will be required will be the registration number of GATE exam while the application form for the recruitment.
Additionally, the candidates also need to be more than 28 years of age as on March 3, 2020. Those belonging to OBC (NCL) category will be given an upper age relaxation of 3 years, wherein 5 years for SC/ST category and 10 year for PwD category. An upper age relaxation of 13 and 15 years will be offered to the candidates belonging to PwD (OBC-NCL) and PwD (SC/ST), respectively.
It may also be noted that the upper age shall not exceed 56 years including all possible age relaxations.
Selection process shall consist of shortlisting on basis of GATE score, followed by group discussion and interview.

GATE 2020 will be held on February 1, 2, 8, and 9, 2020. Registrations for the exam have recently closed, on October 5, 2019. Admit card for the exam will be released on January 3, 2020, at gate.iitd.ac.in and apsgate.iitd.ac.in.
