FYJC 2017 Second Round Allocation Declared, Cut Offs Drop

After a long detainment, the second round allocation of the First Year Junior College (FYJC) (XIth class) has been finally released today on 20 July 2017 at 12:00 pm. The status has been uploaded on schedule. It is officially acquirable at the departmental sites of School Education and Sports Department, Government of Maharashtra of each zone i.e Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Aurangabad, Amravati. The status can be obtained by entering 6 digit application form number.

The page displayed will contain Application Form Number, Name, Category, Merit Number, Merit Marks, Allotted College, College Address, Allocated Preference Number, Stream, Status by logging into the official account.

The second round will be held from 21 July to 24 July 2017 from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM. Candidates selected will now go to the allotted college and pay the course fee within this time frame to confirm their admission. All these candidates are advised to take their documents along and confirm admission before 24 July 2017. Candidate wishing to change their preferences, they will have to do so before the next merit list is published.

As contrary to the indefinite claims that the cut off will go high, the cut offs faced a drop in major colleges. In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times by Ashok Wadia, principal of Jai Hind college mentioned that- colleges like NM College, Vile Parle saw cut-off dip by one mark in commerce landing it to a 91.6%. While Jai Hind College, cut off also dipped by 0.2% and 0.8% in commerce and arts respectively. Commerce cut off is 89.2%, arts is 87.8% but science plunged down to 81.6%. At Vaze Kelkar College, the cut-off for arts increased by 8 marks to 85.6%, while commerce fell by just one mark to 89.4%. Science was down by 6 marks to 91.4%.

FYJC online admission result is being coordinated by School Education and Sports Department (SESD), Government of Maharashtra. The Centralized Admission Procedure (CAP) is supposedly to be completed in 4 stages. The 01st stage has already taken place and ended on 18th July 2017, 02nd stage will end by 24th July, 03rd stage by 01st August and 04th stage by 6th August 2017. Candidates interested in taking admission in colleges of Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Aurangabad, Amravati are required to reach the allotted college and perform the formalities regarding the admission.

After the first round that was concluded on 18 July 2017, around 79,474 candidates confirmed their admission out of 1.56 lakh candidates. In Pune itself, 48,315 candidates appeared and only 1,631 candidate confirmed their admission. If reports are to be believed, 49,314 have been selected in Commerce stream, 27,757 candidates in Science and 6239 students in Arts. and close to 70 to 80 per cent seats are already filled.
