Yesterday, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the notification of IAS 2019 at upsc.gov.in. And the application process for the most premier service examination of this country has started from the very same day i.e. February 19, 2019, the application form can be filled until March 18, 2019, by 06 pm at upsconline.nic.in. This time UPSC has made some big changes in the official notification of Civil Services 2019. The aspirants of IAS 2019 must have knowledge of these changes.

This is the first time when UPSC has provided the 10% reservation to the candidates belonging Economic Weaker Section (EWS). But the candidates should know the eligibility and the process of the claiming reservation.

Now, The first question arises is, Who will be beneficial from this initiative? Only those candidates can apply for the reservation under EWS category who doesn’t come under any other type of relaxation which UPSC usually provides in every IAS exam to OBC, SC, ST, PWBD category candidates. Along with the above provided the condition the annual family income of the aspirants should be less than 8 lakhs. The family income means here, the income of the aspirant itself, and income his/her parents, and income of the spouse.

The total number of vacancies have been increased by UPSC in IAS 2019. Last year UPSC announced 782 vacancies for Civil Services 2018. In the year 2017, a total of 980 vacancies were introduced that year the number of vacancies was slightly more.

There is no process to withdrawal the application form as provided in UPSC IES 2019, CDS 01/2019 and NDA 1/2019. It was expecting that UPSC can provide the chance to quit, to save an attempt. But UPSC has mentioned clearly that no request will be entertained for withdrawing the application, once anyone submits the application. Now the candidates can’t withdraw their application form. Hence the candidates who are confident enough should apply.

As always the application fee is Rs. 100/- and can be submitted online as well as offline mode. The candidates who are going to submit the application fee in offline mode should generate the pay slip on March 17, 2019, by 11:59 pm.

The application forms are invited from the Indian candidates who have completed their graduation or appearing in graduation. And who are in the age group of 21 to 32 years. However, UPSC has provided relaxation to the candidates. The candidates can choose any one examination – Civil Services, IFS, and Civil Services and IFS. The application form is invited for the preliminary examination to be held on June 02, 2019. The admit card for the examination will be available in the 02nd week of May 2019.
