NTA to provide 10% EWS (Economically Weaker Section) quota on JEE Main merit list to those general category candidates who come under this quota. As per the notice issued by NTA on March 02, 2019, candidates can select the EWS quota in their application form from March 11 to 15, 2019.
In addition to that, the notice also informs that the candidates need not upload the supporting document now in the JEE Main 2019 Application Form. However, they have to upload while filling the JEE Advanced 2019 Application Form.
What is EWS Quota? – EWS or Economically Weaker Section Quota has been introduced by the Government of India for the economically weaker General category candidates of the country. This quota will be applicable in government jobs and educational institutions from now on.
As we know NTA is to take the JEE Main 2019 in two sessions and the January session for the same has already been conducted. All those candidates who have already taken the exam in the first session and belong to the EWS category can also visit the website and mark the same before the application form correction last date.
In addition to the above, all those candidates who have already applied for JEE Main April 2019 session and belong to the EWS Category are also eligible to mark the same in the application form between March 11 to 15, 2019. The process to do so remains the same as mentioned above.
Also, there are candidates who are still planning to apply for the April exam. Such candidates who belong to the EWS category can also select the EWS quota while filling the form. The last date to apply for JEE Main 2019 April session is March 7, 2019.
How To edit the JEE Main 2019 Application Form: To edit the JEE Main 2019 application form candidates will have to log in with their application number and password generated at the time of registration. In the application form, candidates will have to choose the details they need to edit. Also, an application form correction fee is to be paid while making some of the corrections. Lastly, click on to submit the corrections made.
Apart from JEE Main candidates taking other NTA examinations such as NEET, UGC NET, CPAT, GMAT, and Hotel management entrance exams will also be able to take the benefit of 10% EWS quota. Also, candidates taking UPSC Civil services exams are to be provided with the quota as per the notices issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. This will be applicable to all of these exams for the very first time.
Talking about JEE Main, It has been taken over by the National testing Agency (NTA) from CBSE this year and is conducted twice in a year from now. Candidates who have already taken the JEE Main 2019 January session can apply again for the April 2019 session to be held from April 7 to 20, 2019. The best from the two exams will be considered for JEE Advanced.
