Eureka 2018: Biggest Hot-spot for Young Entrepreneurs Launched by IIT Bombay

The IIT Bombay has launched its 20th edition of Eureka event to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship. It is accredited as Asia’s largest Business-Model Competition by CNN in 2001 & Thomson Reuters in 2010. With the involvement of more than 10,000 participants, it is the biggest platform to showcase the innovative entrepreneurial ideas.

Eureka – 5 Months Long Entrepreneurship Experience

The first part of the event includes the intensive workshop which enlightens the students and young professionals about the knowledge of entrepreneurship. Second is the registration step, this year Eureka Registration has been started from August 25 and will continue until September 30, 2018. Last year, 10,320 business plans were part of the competition. Not only form India, but also the participation from other countries made Eureka a huge success.

 

Mentor Support Offline and Online

After the shortlisting of best idea, the top 80 will enter into semi-finals. The top-notch ideas will get the mentors to guide the team and help to finalize an exemplary Business plan. The help of experts will assist to make an idea into a Minimal Viable Product. Moreover, the mentors will available online and offline to assist the participates in every possible way.

Winner of the event gets the cash prize Worth Rs 5 Million

Final is the pitching round when the teams have to present a full-fledged b-plan in front of the judges. Impressive, innovative, and the revolutionary idea will the get the first prize. The rewards in the event are categorized in two basic tracks.

First, the Eureka! Business which is for ideas having the ability to revolutionize the world. The winner will get the prize money worth Rs 5,00,000/- and the first runner-up gets Rs 3,00,000/-. The second one is the Eureka! Social which is for ideas to promote a greener tomorrow. The winner and first runner-up get INR 2,00,000/- and INR 1,00,000/- respectively. Well, that’s only a starting, a deserving idea gets funds from angel investors and support from venture capitalists.

Since 1998, the Eureka has grown into the largest entrepreneur event under the cooperation and collaboration of UNESCO, Make in India, Startup India, and Digital India. The platform is now the part of the success stories of many young entrepreneurs. Leaf Wearables was the Social Track Winner fo year 2014. It was a tech startup to provide devices for the safety of women in case of emergency.
