Along with this, the minister is also going to specify the number of attempts, any relaxations and the eligibility criteria for the national-level entrance test. The Education Minister on January 4, 2021, announced the same on his official Twitter account. JEE Advanced is a national-level entrance exam conducted every year for students who have qualified the JEE Mains examination. Through this exam, candidates can seek admission in prestigious IITs across the country.

The Education Minister, talking to Twitter, announced that he is going to make the official announcement on January 7, 2021, regarding the JEE Advanced 2021 entrance exam. This announcement came after a long time and it is eagerly awaited by lakhs of students across the country.
The COVID-19 pandemic created a havoc in the academics of many students. Many couldn’t appear for the JEE Mains 2020 examination or couldn’t crack the entrance test. Few such students requested the education ministry and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi for an additional attempt. Last year, IIT-Delhi had organised JEE Advanced 2020.
Many such questions and requests are expected to be addressed on January 7, 2021. Moreover, many are also hopeful that an additional attempt shall be provided to students whose last year to give the exam was 2020. However, as the eligibility criteria go, the students who have given their class 12 board exams in the year preceding their Advanced paper shall not be eligible to appear for the exam. In simple terms, students who appeared for their board exams in 2019 shall not be allowed to appear for JEE Advanced 2021, according to sources.
Authorities have specified that only two for JEE Advanced shall be given to students. However, students are expecting certain relaxations in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All such queries are expected to be solved by the education minister soon.
Earlier, the education ministry announced the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exam dates. According to the official announcement, board exams are scheduled to be conducted from May 4 to June 10, 2021. Results for the same shall be announced on or before July 15, 2021.
Due to the pandemic, CBSE also reduced the board exam portion by 30% to ease the academic stress of students. Paper pattern shall be in accordance with the reduced syllabus. Authorities have also published the paper pattern on the official website for students’ reference.
