The Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC) will be conducting the recruitment process for Probationary Officers (PO). According to several exam experts and educators, the official notification is expected to be released by the end of March 2022. The examination is said to have a moderate level of difficulty. Regarding the examination date, educators are of the opinion that it will be conducted by the end of May, 2022.
Details
In 2015-16, there wasn’t any separate examination for ECGC. The recruitment process used to be carried out via IBPS. However, after that, ECGC has started to conduct its own recruitment examination. The last PO examination was held in January, 2021. It took around 05 months to conclude the entire selection process.
A total of 59 vacancies were included in the last ECGC PO 2022 recruitment. This year, the number of vacancies is expected to be more than 50. According to a YouTube channel named ExamExpert, the official notification is expected to be out by the end of March, 2022 or latest by the first or second week of April, 2022. The applying candidate should be a graduate in any stream and has an age between 21 to 30 years.
Exam Pattern
Coming to the preparation, the strategy is similar to other competitive exams for recruitment to the Gramin banks, IBPS calendar or insurance calendar. The question paper will be set for a total of 200 marks. Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability have 50 questions each while English Language and General Awareness have 40 questions each. Lastly, a total of 20 questions will be asked from Computer Knowledge. A duration of 140 minutes is given to complete the examination. The time duration for each section of the question paper is given below.

There will also be a descriptive paper which is the second part. As per experts, this part also follows a typical regular pattern. In the descriptive part, there are two questions on essay and precis writing. Each will have two options out of which candidates have to attempt anyone. The marks allotted for both essay and precis writing are 20. Altogether, a duration of 40 minutes is given to solve the descriptive paper. Both papers of the examinations are conducted in only one sitting. In other words, this is a single-stage examination as there is no preliminary or main round.
