It has been a long wait for the student for applying to the University of Delhi. There are have been several newspaper reports for the expected release date for the release of DU Admission Form 2019, however, no official statement has been made yet. As per the latest newspaper reports, in charge, the standing committee on DU admissions, Rajeev Gupta has said that “We are still deciding the date of release of the application form. It can release between May 24, 25 or 27 (Friday, Saturday or Sunday).”
Earlier, there were reports that the application form for DU UG Admission will release on April 19 which was delayed to May 15 and then again postponed to May 21. The reason for the delay was stated as that the committee is making some changes to make the application process more easy and user-friendly. Furthermore, few other changes are also being looked into like NTA shall conduct the DU entrance exams in online, however, an official announcement is yet to be made on this.
It was reported that all central and state education boards have announced their class 12 board exams early to ensure easy admission process, despite this there has been a continuous delay in the admission process. Another major reason for the delay in the release of DU admission form could be that Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has written to Delhi University to align their admission process with the preponed result schedule of the class 12 board examination.
St Stephen’s college which is not part of the centralized admission process has released its admission prospectus and will soon release the Application Form. However, delay in the release of the DU admission form is further delaying the admission process at St. Stephens. Students have to first register and pay the application fee at the DU admission portal and obtain the registration, only after this they can register for St. Stephens college.
However, as and when the form releases, the students can register at du.ac.in. Last year, an open day to inform students about the registration and admission process was conducted. It is expected to be conducted this year as well. Once the candidates successfully register they can proceed to fill DU Admission Form. In the application form, candidates need to choose programs and colleges they wish to apply for.
Based on applications submitted, students will be then selected and list fo cut-offs will be released by DU. For UG courses, there are two admission processes – first is Merit-based in which the student’s performance in Class 12th is considered and cut off is released, and the other is Entrance exam based.
The cut-offs are calculated on the basis of the ‘best of four’ formula wherein the average of the highest marks of any four subjects will be considered. The candidates who will meet the cut-off are called for document verification and payment of admission fees into the respective college.
When exactly will the online registration begin? And where to actually see for it?? There is a notification about medical courses in DU for 2019, which states to give neet roll no. but on doing so… it shows an error. Kindly do assist about that too.
