Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi invites applications for recruitment for the post of Assistant Professor. There are a total 96 vacancies for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor, in the pay matrix level 10 ( Rs 57700 – 182400), in various subjects in the college. Candidates with a Master’s degree or its equivalent with 55% marks in a concerned or relevant or allied subject from a recognized University in India are eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor for the disciplines of Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages, Library Science, Journalism & Mass Communication and Physical Education.
Furthermore, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR. Those who have a PhD degree from a foreign University / Institution who have a ranking among top 500 in the world University ranking by either Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) or The Times Higher Education (THE) or The Academic Ranking Of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai). This is applicable for all disciplines and there is a relaxation of 5% marks in at the Bachelor’s as well as at the Master‘s level for SC / ST / OBC-NCL / PWD category candidates.
For the discipline of Management Studies, candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Business Management / Administration/ in a relevant management related discipline or PGDM degree or should have qualified CA/ CWA/ CS. For the discipline of Music, candidates should hold a Master’s degree with 55% marks in the relevant subject from an Indian/foreign University. For the discipline of Education, candidates must have graduated from college where B.Ed. and B.El.Ed. are offered. Should have a master’s degree in Sciences / Humanities / Arts / Commerce with 55% marks and should have passed M.Ed by obtaining at least 55% marks.
The direct recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professors in Deshbandhu College is done based on the merit in the degree examination. Candidates must have secured 60% marks and above to be called for Interview. A minimum of 50 candidates for the first vacancy and 20 candidates for every additional vacancy will be called for the interview round.
