As per one of the dailies, Delhi University is likely to start with its undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil and Ph.D. courses 2019-20 admission April 15 onward, on its official website du.ac.in. The last date to submit DU applications is till May 07, 2019 in online mode. Earlier, this Friday Admission Committee of Delhi University came together to finalize all the admission related details.
It is said that the online admission portal again goes live after Class 12 results have been declared so that the same can be updated by an applicant. Keeping in mind, the convenience of the candidates two weeks will be allotted to update the Class 12 result.
#1. DU to take Students’ Marks from CBSE Database
The Delhi University Application process for this year is said to be very easy! On the other hand, DU authorities are contacting the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to get the authority of their database, in order to obtain the Class 12 mark sheets and certificates.
#2. 2% Deduction for stream Change
Another thing to note about DU Admission, this year is that 2% of marks will be deducted for stream change. Previously, which was 5% for changing from Science stream to Commerce and vice – versa. So, in this sense candidates can now breathe a sigh of relief! Another major change, that has been initiated is to make the admission procedure for reserved category candidates easy and fair.
#3. Grievance cell for all Category
The grievance committee will now have members from SC, ST, OBC EWS, and North East categories. In every DU college, the Committee is planning on to set up this type of grievance cell. ECA and sports category trials to begin from May 20 onward as these seats are reserved under supernumerary seats, so a candidate need not wait for a long period (as it used to be earlier).
Currently, Delhi University 87 UG courses and 153 PG courses. Candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria and either via entrance exam or through direct mode, on the merit basis. As per last years records, over 3.5 lakh applicants registered for DU UG Admission. Over, 3000 foreign nationals also applied for various course admission to the Delhi University.
As per DU PG Admission is concerned, candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria and apply with their merit scores of the qualifying exam or any national level exam or university level exam. Further, a candidate is required to appear for a round of personal interview or group discussion or both. As per the University data, over 1,32,000 regular candidates and 2,61,000 distance learning candidates get enrolled every year.
