Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a public university in Kochi, Kerala. Established in 1971, today the university offers a wide range of UG and PG programs. For admission to all its programs except M.Phil, PhD, Diploma, a Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted.
For CUSAT 2020 admission, the CUSAT CAT 2020 will be held on April 18 and 19, 2020. The university has announced that it will publish detailed notification on January 1, 2020. Two days after that, registrations shall commence on January 3, 2020.
The various undergraduate courses offered by the varsity include B.Tech, 5 yrs M.Sc Photonics, Integrated MSc (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics), B.Voc in Business Process and Data Analytics, B.Com LL.B (Hons), BBA LL.B (Hons).
Among the postgraduate programs are MBA, LLM, M.Sc, MA, LLB, MCA, M.Tech to name a few. Specializations offered in each of the streams, UG as well as PG are diverse.
A major step already taken by CUSAT for admission session 2020-21 is the launch of its new website admissions.cusat.ac.in. It is there that the dates have been announced. Moreover, list of all courses, eligibility wise, have been provided on the courses page. Where, students can check which courses are available suitable to their previous educational qualifications.
CUSAT 2020 application form will also be available at admissions.cusat.ac.in. all candidates who wish to get admission in the university in any course except M.Phil. PhD, Diploma will need to submit their applications through the registration link that will be available online.
The varsity will also accept scores obtained in KMAT, CMAT, IIM CAT for the purpose of MBA admission. On the basis of those scores, as well as group discussion, interview, candidates will be ranked.
Moreover, candidates with a valid GATE score in respective subject will get preference in M.Tech admissions. Those without GATE score will also be allowed to apply, however, for them, there will be a departmental admission test (DAT). Concerned departments shall carry out the same.
Likewise for M.Phil, PhD, diploma courses, departments concerned will release separate application forms. Candidates need to apply through the departments for these programs.
CUSAT has three campuses, as listed in its admissions website. Campus 1 is at Cochin University of Science & Technology-Thrikkakra Campus South Kalmassery, Kochi-682022. The second campus is Cochin University College of Engineering Kuttanadu, Alappuzha Pulincunnu P.O. Alappuzha District, PIN-68850. Third is at Cochin University of Science & Technology, Lake Side Campus (Marine Science Campus) Foreshore Road, Pallimukku, Kochi, Kerala, pin 682016.
Last year CUSAT registration started on January 30 and ended on February 21. The last date to apply with late fee was February 28. Admit card was released on March 25. The common admission test for MSc, LLM, MVoc, MCA, BVoc, LLB, BTech (lateral entry), BTech, MA (Hindi, Applied Economics), BBA LLB, BCom LLB, MCA was held on April 6 and 7. Results were announced on May 9.
CUSAT was initially known as the University of Cochin. It was later renamed to Cochin University of Science and Technology in the year 1986. As per NIRF Rankings, the varsity is ranked at number 65 among all universities in India.
