The notification for the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) will be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) soon. Students will be able to take admission in the Undergraduate, Post-graduate, and integrated programs offered by 42 central universities through this examination. The exam will be organized across 15 test centers in India.
CUCET 2022 – 42 Universities to participate
The Universities accepting CUCET scorecard will include popular universities including Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Central Punjab University (CPU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Milia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) amongst others. Applications will start from March-April 2022 and the admit card issue and the examination will be held in May 2022 reportedly. The merit list will be published in July, and the counseling sessions will commence in August.
Previously, the admission in these Universities was done based on the percentage scored by the candidates in class 12th. The exam will be conducted online for the duration of 2 hours. The maximum marks will be 100, in which 25 marks will be reserved for aptitude and language tests, and 75 marks will be allotted to the respective domain knowledge. Students will get 1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
Eligibility
The eligibility criterion for the exam for undergraduate courses is 55% marks in class 12th for the general applicants and 45% marks for the reserved applicants. For postgraduate courses, the criterion is 55 % and 50 % in the respective graduate degree course for general students and reserved students respectively. For the Ph.D. candidates possessing UGC-NET (JRF), GATE or NBHM scholarship, it is mandatory to register for the exam.
How to apply?
Last year, the CUCET exam was conducted in the month of August-September. This pushed date is due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As per the data, the registration was open from August 16 to September 1, and the exam was held on September 15 and 17, 2022. Candidates can follow the below steps, once the registration process commences, to apply for CUCET 2022-
Step 1. Visit the official website of the exam which is cucet.nta.nic.in

Step 2. Register for the exams by giving personal details such as Name, Email Id, Phone number, etc.
Step 3. When the registration is complete, a username and password will be provided to the candidate.
Step 4. Now fill out the application form with academic details, proof of citizenship, test center preference, etc.
Step 5. Select the desired University and course and click on ‘save and proceed.
Step 6. Pay the application fee which is INR 800/- for General/OBC/EWS candidates and INR 350/- for SC/ST applicants.
