CSAB Special Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2019

Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) is currently doing seat allotment for seats lying vacant in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs after JoSAA rounds. Seats were available at the start of counselling in 2568 college-branch combinations.

Today, the CSAB Special Round 2019 result has been announced at csab.nic.in. The participants of this counselling can now login with JEE Main application number, password in order to view their allotment results at “https://csab.nic.in/ClosingRoundChoiceFilling/root/candidatelogin.aspx”.

All are then required to exercise any one of the five options before them between July 29 and July 31. Thereafter the second round results will be announced on August 01. In-person reporting to allotted institutes will take place from August 02 to August 05, which would mark the end of CSAB special round counselling 2019.

The option once selected (between the five) can be changed only once. For example, if someone selects option B, and wants to change it to E, then he/she can do that but not make any further changes to this option.

There are five options before students, after round 1 seat allotment.

Freeze is option A. This option means that participant is accepting the seat, and is satisfied with the same, and will not participate in round 2.

Slide is option B. By this option participant indicates that he/she is accepting the seat, and if a higher preference in given choices within the same institute is offered in the next round then he/she will accept that. However if higher preference is not achievable in next round, then the seat not allotted will be accepted.

Float is option C. Upon selecting this option, participant exerts that seat allotted in round 1 is being accepted, however, if a seat of higher preference in any institute is available in next round, then he/she will go for that.

Surrender and participate in special round II is option D. Such participants who do not wish to accept, and thus reject, seat allotted in JoSAA / CSAB round I and would participate in special round II, would opt for this choice.

Surrender and not participate in special round II is option E. By choosing this option, participant effectively loses claim over seat allotted in JoSAA / CSAB special round I, and also decides not to participate in the second round of CSAB special counselling.

There is another option, which is only for those who did not get any seat in CSAB special counselling round 1. This is to select “Not Willing To Participate”. It implies that the student will no longer take part in special round 2, without any seat.

Special round seat acceptance fee

Those who go for Freeze, or Slide, or Float option need to pay the special round seat acceptance fee via SBI MOPS.

The fee amount is Rs 35,000 for general, general EWS, OBC candidates who have been allotted a seat for the first time special round and want to accept the seat. The fee is Rs 15,000 for SC, ST, PWD candidates in the same situation.

No fee is required from those who were admitted or allotted any institute from NITs, IIITs, GFTIs through JoSAA rounds, since they have already deposited their fees.

Allotted institutes will verify documents online of candidates who have opted for Freeze / Slide / Float options and paid seat acceptance fee. Seat confirmation or seat cancellation message will display at candidate login thereafter. If any document or information is lacking, then candidates need to provide the same within the time window of July 29 to July 31.

Government of India had formed the Central Counselling Board (CCB) to orchestrate UG engineering and architecture admissions. In 2013, the same was renamed to CSAB or the Central Seat Allocation Board.

For CSAB 2019, Director, National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli is the Chairman. There are four different CSAB counselling – CSAB special round, SFTI counselling, supernumerary counselling, NEUT counselling.
