The Council of Architecture has officially extended the last date to register online for the upcoming NATA 2021 exam. NATA is a national level examination for admission to 5 years B.Arch program. It is conducted twice a year. With the release of a short notification, the COA has revised the last date to register and apply online for the first session exam to April 01, 2021. The online application process is ongoing at the official website nata.in since March 05, 2021. The first test is scheduled to be held on April 10, 2021. Additionally, the Council has also announced relaxations on the minimum eligibility criteria for appearing in the UG Architecture entrance exam.

COA released the official information brochure for National Aptitude Test in Architecture on March 03, 2021. Applications were invited from candidates who fulfilled the minimum eligibility conditions as per the brochure. As per information in the brochure, the last to register, pay application fee and print the confirmation page was set on March 28, 2021. However, with the declaration of the new extended date for registration now, candidates will be able to register & apply online till April 01, 2021.
NATA 2021 aspirants may note that the COA has indicated revised eligibility criteria which offer certain relaxations in view of the pandemic. The notice reads “No candidate shall be admitted to architecture course unless she/he has passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject”.
It may be noted that Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, tweeted earlier in March 2021 that the minimum eligibility criteria for NATA 2021 will be relaxed for the academic session 2021-2022. Following this tweet from the Minister, the COA has now officially declared the revised eligibility criteria as quoted above. As per the new revised eligibility condition, candidates are no longer required to secure at least 50% marks in Class 12 to be eligible for NATA. Instead, anyone who has passed Class 12 with PCM subjects by securing the minimum passing marks are eligible to apply now for NATA as per the latest extended schedule of events.
Candidates who are still waiting to register and fill up the NATA 2021 application form are now advised to hurry up and proceed to register online without delay. It is generally not recommended to wait for registering on the very last day in order to avoid last minute rush & issues of website down due to heavy traffic. Candidates can get the complete details of the exam as well as instructions for registering & apply online from the official website nata.in.
