CMAT 2020, GPAT 2020

National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the online application form the MBA entrance exam CMAT 2020, and pharmacy entrance exam GPAT 2020 on Friday, November 1, 2019. The former is for admission to AICTE approved MBA/PGDM offering institutions, whereas the latter is for admission to M.Pharm. Either on the same day or one day prior, NTA will also publish their notification and information brochure.

Although the two exams are completely different, and are for separate set of candidates, their schedule is common. The last date to apply online for CMAT 2020 as well as GPAT 2020 will be November 30, 2019. Then the admit cards for both exams will be available for download from December 24, 2019.

The exams – Common Management Admission Test, and Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test – will be held on January 24, 2020. The agency will declare results by February 3, 2020. Dates of application form correction will be made known through the information brochures. However other dates such as that for answer key release, counselling, will be available one by one as the dates come closer.

Last year the official website for CMAT was ntacmat.nic.in. And that for GPAT was ntagpat.nic.in. The official websites might change as NTA has changed the websites of JEE Main 2020 , UGC NET and CSIR NET. However if there is any change then the same, that is the link of new official website will be available at nta.ac.in.

NTA started conducting the exams CMAT and GPAT since last year. Both the exams are now computer based tests.

Any graduate can apply for CMAT. Last year the exam was held in two shifts on the same day. And application fee was Rs 1400 for general and OBC males, Rs 700 for all others. There were 25 questions of 100 marks in each section namely quantitative technique, logical reasoning, language comprehension, general awareness. Negative marking was applicable to the tune of 1 mark per incorrect answer.

Candidates with only B.Pharm are eligible for GPAT. Last year the exam was conducted in a single shift. The application fee was same as that of CMAT. Questions in the exam are based on subjects taught in B.Pharm. Again, same negative marking as CMAT shall apply. GPAT scores remain valid for three years.

In a related news for MBA aspirants, IIM Kozhikode has released the admit card for CAT 2019. And the exam is next month, on November 24, 2019. While CAT is one of the first MBA entrance exams to be held in a session, CMAT is usually the last one. The second last exam, as far as the major exams of the category are concerned, will be XAT 2020 on January 5, 2020. And as far as M.Pharm entrance exams are concerned, GPAT is the largest on a national level. Other than that there are those on the state level, held with the CETs and CEEs usually.
