National Testing Agency has begun the CMAT Registration 2019 from November 01, 2018, at 11:00 AM. The application form has been released on NTA CMAT website at ntacmat.nic.in. Candidates have one-month registration window for the exam to be held on January 28, 2019. The exam score will be accepted by more than 1000 colleges all over India.
This is the first time that NTA has been conducting the CMAT examination. Until last year, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) used to conduct the test. So with this, the exam conducting body has brought many changes in the exam as well as in the registration process.
#1. Exam in two sessions
From this year, the CMAT examination will conduct in two slots in a single day. The first slot in the morning session which will take place between 09:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M, whereas the afternoon session will take place between 02:30 P.M. to 05:30 P.M. In the earlier notification, only the exam date was announced by NTA to be held on January 28 next year. Only with the release of information brochure, information about the exam session has been revealed.
#2. Registration Window
This year registration window is opened for 30 days only. Last year, candidates got 60 days to register for the exam by AICTE. In the few days of registration window, candidates need to complete the registration process, application form, uploading of documents, and payment of fees. Only after the completion of all these process and submission of the form, the NTA will consider the application of a student.
#3. Answer Key and Response Sheet
From this year, NTA will release the CMAT 2019 Answer Key and Response Sheet. NTA will publish not only the correct answers but also recorded response sheet of the candidates. Even candidates can raise the objections in the key in case of any errors. The doubts can be raised by paying Rs 1000/- per question. The facility will be available at the CMAT students dashboard.
#4. Choosing of Four Test Cities
Now, candidates can select four test cities for the CMAT 2019 Exam. Earlier, applicants could able to choose only three examination cities for the test. The exam conducting body will put their best efforts to allocate the test city of candidates’ choice. In rare circumstances, students will get the exam centre in different test city.
#5. Increase in Number of Test Cities
This year the number of test cities has been increased to 84 from 75. NTA has announced some new test city in the list naming Guntur, Kurnool, Nellore, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Chandigarh/Mohali/Panchkula, Anand, Kadi/Mehsana, Hisar, Hamirpur, Srinagar etc. There are also some cities that have been deleted that are Nasik, Gautum Budh Nagar, Bhuj, Ponda.
#6. Test PractiSe Centres
NTA will soon start the service of Test Practise Centre (TPC) for CMAT. Registered candidates can use this facility to get familiar with the online based exam. Registration for TPC will activate soon on the official website. The practice centre will be available a the nearby online centres/ institutes/ colleges. The trained officials will be there to help students to attend the mock papers at the test centres.
#7. No Application Correction Window
Though AICTE also no used to open the edit window for exam still it was expected that correction window will open like JEE MAIN examination. In the CMAT 2019 Information Brochure, it has been mentioned that no window to edit the form will be available. Candidates will be solely responsible to furnish the details in the form.
Moreover, NTA is not responsible to validate any data in the form. The document verification or selection procedure will take place according to the management institute in which a student is taking the admission.
