All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) conducted the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) on January 20, 2018, at around 61 test centres. So, now finally the wait is over as the CMAT 2018 Result declaration date has been published at its official website, aicte-cmat.in.

The result for CMAT 2018 will be published on February 15, 2018, at around 05:00 PM. The students will be able to check their result online by clicking on All India Merit List., which will be available in pdf format. Also, the candidate will be able to download their scorecard by entering the necessary login credentials. The merit list will include the Roll number, Rank and the Score of all the candidates. The score obtained by the candidate in CMAT 2018 will be valid till the current academic session only.

Thousands of aspirants apply for CMAT every year. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges. There are over 3500 AICTE approved B-schools which shall take up CMAT scores including JBIMS, Sydenham, KJ Somaiya, IMT and GIM among others. The score of CMAT is not only considered for admission to full-time programmes but is also considered for admissions to all AICTE approved part-time programs.

The scores for CMAT 2018 are calculated as per the marking scheme given by AICTE. For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded, 1 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer and 0 marks will be given for no response.

The merit list for CMAT 2018 is prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate in the entrance examination. However, if a case arises in which two or more candidates have the same ranking, then the tie will be resolved by considering the marks obtained in Quantitative techniques and data interpretation. If the tie is still not resolved, the marks obtained in the Logical reasoning
will be taken into consideration. However, if there is still a tie, the marks obtained in Language comprehension will be given priority. Lastly to resolve the tie the marks obtained in General Awareness.

After giving CMAT 2018 exam, the candidates will be eligible to apply for courses such as PGDM, MBA and similar, PGCM and Executive PGDM programmes. The AICTE does not release the cutoff, however, institute wise cut off shall be released after the declaration of CMAT 2018 Result.

Since each CMAT participating college follows different selection procedures, the admission criteria are likely to differ. However, the standard criteria to be followed by most of the institutes shall include a valid CMAT score, group discussion, document verification and personal interview.

On the basis of last years information, it can be expected that the cut off for SIMSREE, Mumbai shall be 99+ (Score 270-290), Goa Institute of Management cut off shall be 98, for Pune University Department of Management Studies (PUMBA DMS) shall be 96, for K.J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research (KJSIMSR), Mumbai, shall be 94 (Score 250-270), for Asia Pacific Institute of Management, New Delhi, the cut off shall be 85, for Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida, shall be, 82 and for Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, shall be 75.
