Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released roll number finder, ahead of declaring the class 10th, 12th result 2021. The roll number finder has been activated at cbse.gov.in, and hosted at cbseit.in. It is a tool that can be used by students to know their roll numbers, as they will need the same to check the board exam results.
In order to access the roll number finder, one has to visit the official website cbse.gov.in. Then click “new website”. On the main page of the website, scroll down and click “roll number finder”. This opens the url cbseit.in/cbse/2021/rfinder/landing.aspx; here, click “continue”.
On the next page, select class – 10 or 12. Upon selecting class, a form opens; here, enter name, father’s name, mother’s name, and date of birth in relevant fields. Then clicking the button “search data” will display the roll number.
Details that one enters in the form i.e. name, parents’ names, date of birth – should be exactly same as used in at the time of enrollment for the board exams. Entering mis-matched credentials will lead to “No Record Found” error.

The tool can be used any number of times. Though it is recommended that students waiting for results should use the tool straight away and note down the roll number; one may never know when the websites start crashing as lakhs of students start hitting the website for this tool and later for results.
Every year, CBSE releases roll numbers in admit cards. Students get possession of the admit cards from their schools, before the board exams. However this year CBSE cancelled class 10th, 12th board exams and thus students did not get any admit card. While students can contact their schools for their roll numbers, it will be more convenient to get the roll number with this tool that the board has just launched. Thus, the tool is anticipated to be a big hit among students.
When will CBSE declare class 10, 12 results?
As per the orders of supreme court, all boards are supposed to declare the results by July 31, 2021. Thus all the few dates leading up to this deadline, that is today, tomorrow, and day after are the only three most probable dates for result declaration.
Students, parents, and other stakeholders have been vehemently demanding the board to announce the date of results. However, the board has insofar not made any announcements. Though they have tried to diffuse the situation with a meme portraying the series The Family Man, asking parents to stay calm about the result date.
