UP Board 10th, 12th Result 2021

In view of the latest model of the National Education Policy, the Central Board of Secondary Education is making major changes aimed at the benefit of students’ secondary education. As per the latest press note on the CBSE official website i.e. cbse.gov.in, candidates passing Class X & Class XII exams will now get an opportunity for improving their score in one subject in the Compartment Examination. The CBSE will hold the Compartment Examination immediately after the conclusion of the Main Examination, the press note read.

CBSE has indicated that these facilities will be available for students who are appearing for their Board exams in 2021. As per existing Rule 44.1 of the CBSE, a candidate of Class XII who has appeared in the Board examinations have the opportunity to reappear in the main examination for improvement of their score. They can do so in one or more subjects. However, such candidates can reappear in the examination, in the succeeding year only.

In addition to the above, as per Rule 44.2 of the CBSE, a candidate of Class X who has passed the Board examination by securing at least Grade D in five subjects under Scholastic Area A and Qualifying Certificate/Grade Sheet cum Certificate of Performance at the Secondary School Examination are also allowed to reappear in the main examination for improvement of score. Such candidates can do so in one or more subjects in the succeeding year only.

Now there are certain conditions to reappear in the main exam as per these rules of the CBSE. For example, candidates can only appear after waiting one year i.e. the next time that the Board conducts the main examinations. Similarly, one must not have pursued higher education during the year gap. These existing rules thus does not comply with the vision of the NEP to allow candidates multiple chances for improving their performances in the subjects opted by them. Therefore, the CBSE has laid down the new changes to allow candidates to improve their score.

As per the latest developments, the Board will not allow Class X & Class XII candidates to reappear in only one subject in the Compartment Examination which is to be held immediately after the Main Examination. Thus, candidates will not have to wait for one year before they can have the opportunity to reappear. The results will be based on the better of the two marks. Such candidates will be issued combined marksheet.
